I think cash for clunkers pulled a lot of used cars off the street. That combined with the decrease in new car sells over the past couple of years has left a decreased supply of used cars on the road compared to the past...

The credit crunch also reduced the number of cars being leased and in tight economies people hold onto their cars longer. Supply of slightly used vehicles has to be down which would push up price.

Can get a 2012 accord lx for 18.5 with 0.9 for 60 months

What was the sticker price on this car?

I'm getting close to being ready for another car. I keep saying I'm going to get a 4 or 5 year old Camry or Accord, but when I see a new car at that price is starts to tempt me.

I only put 7000 miles a year on my car the past three years. Have no problem keeping one for 8 to 10 years.

This. We traded in an 18 month old Honda CRV, and the dealership put it on their used lot for $2000 more than we paid for it new.

No kidding. I just bought an '07 Yukon with 60K miles on it for less than half of what it stickered for new - though in '07 GMC was nearly giving them away.

most people that trade a car every year aren't wealthy but just like to appear that way

I have always got great deals on buying used cars but I also go to a lot looking for a good deal, not a specific vehicle which I find can limit some people.

What did your momma say about assuming?
Some people define wealth differently than you and I do. And this does nothing to change my earlier posit:

You still should thank a wealthy person today.

Thanks !Bargains in used cars are tougher to find. A dip in new-car sales and leases during the Great Recession means fewer three- and four-year-old used cars are entering the market.take it offers Limited.
