.90 cents here we come.
Gazprom declares Force Majeure...back dating to June 14th.
IEA says Europe Must Cut Gas Immediately (July 18th)
Guess the markets aren't going to react until July 22nd though.

Global housing crash plus upside down Euro is going to present a once in a lifetime opportunity for your dream property in Europe.

I don't know either. That's why I was asking.

Maybe you were remembering Buffett's quote?
“Only when the tide goes out do you discover who's been swimming naked.”

I feel bad for normal Germans.
But, they'll have to feel pain.
They asked for this.

The hard part is going to be sorting to find which places the government won’t stick it to foreigners/property owners/both when in dire straits.

How long is this supposed to last? Assuming as long as the Russian/ Ukraine war? I have a trip to europe in November, is it worth doing anything right now?
I'd assume things like hotels would be "cheaper" to purchase in dollars right now?

The euro being down? As with all things, it depends .

I would say this is their best case scenario if it only lasts this long (assuming this war has a conventional “end” at all) and Russia eventually turns back on the gas flows.
The much more likely scenario is that the Euro heads of state will captain their ship of defiance to the absolute bottom and face serious civic unrest this winter when people can’t stay warm. Decent odds at least a few countries will eventually break ranks and attempt to broker a separate peace with Russia in exchange for energy.

I’m don’t think anything in Europe will be significantly cheaper this fall/winter when their power and heating cost multiply by a factor of 10. They are potentially looking at a depression.
