Buy and hold in the majors or spread across an ETF is the only sure fire way.
If I have learned anything investing in the biotech industry is that you buy the rumor and sell the news to the extreme. The second they have a breakthrough drug in the works is the euphoria phase. Once they Stage 2 trials and start inching towards 3 and FDA approval is when the rosy picture becomes much more grim. As they either fail completely during trials, or struggle to get on any PBM formulary due to costs. By the time FDA approval rolls around and they start selling, the stock has sold off and will continue to unless it is an absolute blockbuster drug. Even then its a long tail because no one believes it, so its a slow rise instead of a quick flash like at the beginning.

This is so great for longterm daytrading. Much better than anything stocktwits will tell you.

Here is another ticker: CLPT. Retail has bought this stock up for years just because there is a rumor that neurosurgeons buy this stock. Retail is identifying that neurosurgeons have the alpha or the edge, so they are just piggybacking into a feast or slaughter. I cant invest any more without an edge.

Almost sold around $1.85. Glad I stayed with it.

Completely bucking the negative trend. AKBA up ~28% on the year.
Yesterday’s close at $2.40 is the highest close since March of 2022. Could be breaking out finally. TBD.

New 52 week high!! Hit 2.50 today so far. Looking forward to the next quarterly earnings report. Hopefully Davita and Fresenius can get their stuff together real soon. Ramp up that revenue!!
