I don't follow basketball. So I have no idea who Zion is.

But if other people are happy about it, great.

Would have loved for it to be Shaq. He is charming and funny. And he attended/played for/graduated from LSU.

typically the guest picker has deeper ties to the host school/state/region than just a couple months.

You don't typically have one of the most hyped players in over a decade that is a media sensation land in your home state and then go out of his way to build ties quickly to that state by going to sporting events for multiple teams and trying like crazy to build a bond.

When you get a sensation like Zion, you want him out front repping your state as much as possible.

I don't think some of you that live in your SEC Football bubble know what a big deal he is and how beneficial it would be.

Barkley did it prior to AT&T buying Warner Media. New boss, new rules.

I don’t get squeezing their time down to like 5 minutes, and only having them say a couple words. Seems like a waste of everyone’s time.

you don’t honestly think Zion being on Gameday is actually going to influence anything more that ratings that day, do you?

when’s the last time you heard a recruit say something like “well i was going to go to State U, but then i saw a dude that went to completely different school on Gameday and I changed my mind and now i’m going to Tech”

It is.

But recruits will eat up having Zion there.

Zion is a great pick, hope it is him

He is personable, well spoken, a media sensation, and arguably one of the largest brands in all of sports already and he happens to be in Louisiana now. He already is arguably the best ambassador for the state of Louisiana outside of Drew Brees.

He will stand up there and embrace the state, embrace the LSU crowd, and pick LSU to crush Florida. The crowd will love him, the TV sets will love him. It would be great

Recruits are going to come to LSU because Zion was our college gameday picker. People really think like that?

What would you rather, some random vaguely LSU connected person

or the Person with 4.8 million instagram followers that almost certainly every recruit follows repping LSU and our state on National TV?

The amount of grown men who think that every former athlete would make a great guest picker is sad. Give me Spurrier. It will be entertaining.

Why are people against this???

Not like any particular person is going to give LSU a better chance to win. Get over it. He's the "hot new name" around here.

I don't live in New Orleans and I don't follow basketball.

I live outside of Philadelphia. Could not name a single player on the 76ers.
