I know right. It is obvious we are the only school in the country that this is happening to. Why can't we sign guys that transfer from Texas A&M, Alabama, Florida, Syracuse, Ohio State, Oregon, Oklahoma State, Missouri, Notre Dame, Arkansas, Virginia, Penn State, West Virginia, etc.

LSU has like 18 DL or something crazy like that. You're going to get more transfers. Expect some on OL too. Not sure why all the edge rushers are leaving though. That's actually a big hole right now on the defense alongside LB. I was thinking Perkins may be moved to ILB but doesn't really explain why all our edge rushers will be leaving especially when they'll be pressing a heavy 4-2-5 base.

Guess he's worried about the transfers that came in. Not sure Womack will be in his position when he comes in but that's another worry. Unsure where they're going to put him though. Could probably be either DE if they wanted to.

Probably Kelly when he recruited a shite ton of DL from the portal

OK, but why not compete in spring and if you don't make the 2 deep rotation put your name up then? We ideally want 8 "starters, rotational dl guys" 4 de's and 4 int dts that will all play if they can play no?

You add someone from the portal, it's not that difficult

Also, the portal stuff will eventually calm down in a few years when the evidence stacks up for guys who barely play a lot of times it's best to just stick it out on scholarship where you are than enter the portal and not find any landing spot leaving you without a scholarship.

We have 4 guys in the portal right now who have been there for a while and still dont have a destination lined up:

EDGE Desmond Little - entered 12/8/22
LB Kolbe Fields - entered 12/8/22
CB Damarius McGhee - entered 12/6/22
CB Jaelyn Davis-Robinson - entered 12/15/22

Not counting Webb because technically he was a medical retirement before the season, but if he just stayed here he would be on scholarship just not on the football team.

Most schools have started this week or next week so if they arent somewhere by end of next week they probably are SOL.

Third-year player who's still only 205 pounds. It was obvious he was leaving.

My only gripe is we should have signed one of the 3-star edge rushers from in-state to replace him as a depth piece.

Was hoping he would stick around... keep building himself up and be a solid contributor as a senior... not his vision I guess. Can play at some small school... good luck.

Bro he’s like 200 lbs he would have had to put on some serious weight to be a contributor next year at edge

It’s not happening at Georgia. You have to get a culture built and staff that players believe in for their development. It’s going to be transfer portal every year if the staff can’t retain and manage the existing roster

Son of a bitch. Now we need to go find another edge guy. Carter was going to see rotational snaps this year.

Yes but explain to me how the heck are they ever going to build quality depth at any position when half of your underclassmen say screw it and hit the transfer portal after their first year on a yearly basis?

Georgia doesn’t have an issue with players leaving. Our staff though is replacing people leaving with better players. We’ll eventually be in a spot where we retain most players
