Zack Cowan appreciation thread

I think lost in all the Jones heroics and Arkie anti-heroics is what can only be described as a epic outing by Cowan on the biggest of stages.
In case you guys didn't hear, he has a tricky changeup he likes to throw glove side, not arm side, from the left rubber, working it back in from the outside almost like an old school screwball. You know...since KP only explained it 33 times.
Despite the fact he had 4 runs charged to him, we mustn't overlook that it was against the top offense in the country. In Omaha! That was heroic in itself and i think he got the "Ackenhausen Moment" everyone was hoping for.
Met his mom in an airport on the way to BR a month or two ago. She's good people. Congrats to Zack and rising to the occasion, cementing himself in LSU lore as well as his decision to leave a place where he was having lots of success in hopes of something greater.
At least in baseball, every single Natty involves some luck. Rather, it involves the ball 'bouncing our way' a few times. in 23 it was Tommy, Tre and Pearson with his leaping catch. This year it was coming back from boneheaded errors by the Tigers and pressing and pressing until Arkie eventually folded 4 times in the final inning.
Either way...hats off to Cowan. He's officially a True Tiger for life !
Innings 5.1
Hits 4
Runs 1
Earned Runs 1
Walks 0
K's 6
HR 1

Would be nice if he stays one more year

Cowan only gave up one run, the solo HR. The other runs were charged to Shores.
0 BB’s on the day for the whole staff, which is ultimately the reason for victory.

I wish I could give a second upvote for the use of mustn’t in a tigerdroppings thread

Rock solid, that young man was on a mission. And thats a lineup that can knock the ball around.
Well done. Kept us in the game during one of those spells we have when we dont hit the ball for 5 or 6 innings.

Without him, we wouldn't even be in this position. Obviously it's a team effort, but what he provided for us coming out of the pen was incredible - and we needed every bit of it considering many of the struggles we've had almost all season long with the pen.
Much like Jones, many people on here were hating on him and said he shouldn't be used again unless we're up big or down big and all the other dumb shite they said about him and putting him down. It's as if they didn't realize we had a whole season of great pitching from him as evidence that he is really damn good.
Was glad he got the start the other day and happy for him that he had an awesome outing. Zac Cowan

Evans, Cowan with a third pitch, and a transfer/ developed sophomore/junior or recruit would be a solid weekend rotation

Most important, the outing gives him confidence for this weekend which is HUGE! Anderson, Eyanson, Evans, Shores and now Cowan all in a confident place will make it really tough on CC.

This is true. He definitely had a rough stretch there towards the end, but the vast majority of his outings were awesome.
