Like many others, I wish he could have capped his career with a great outing in a bowl win, but maybe there is something appropriate about the big guy being carried out on his shield. I really feel like LSU was good for Mett, and I know Mett was good for LSU. Thanks, #8.

Mettenberger showed you can rebound from your past mistakes in life with class, and make something of yourself. I wish him all the best going forward.
Fight On, Mett!

to you, Zach. You came in with ridiculous expectations from this fan base. You struggled at first, but when you met Cam and came to appreciate what he brought to the game, you bought in, busted your arse, earned your receivers' trust in your insane arm strength, and produced one of the greatest QB seasons in LSU history.

Your tears this past Friday were genuine, and we all suspected that you knew in your heart that you were done as a QB of this team. But you weren't done as a leader.

Ironocally, it was a moment off the playing field that perhaps defines you best. When you grabbed the young QB's hand and pulled him to you and whispered encouragement in his ear, you passed the torch of leadership.

Another bit of cruel irony -- you began your college career in a dead heat with Aaron Murray. You and he were in some way joined at the hip. When you finally met as opponents a few months back, you both competed like warriors. And yet you both end your college careers with the same injury. Weird.

Best of luck in the pros. Hopefully, you'll meet up with an OC like Cam that will maximize your ability.

Remember the Tiger.
Embrace the Tiger.
Be the Tiger.

what it was like to have an actual QB after we were in a 4 year abyss of Hatch, Lee and Jefferson.

Really not necessary to give ZM his well deserved props.

I was hoping to see ZM in the bowl game and was trying to figure out if he had a shot to become LSU's leader in a season's passing yards; he'd have had a shot vs. Baylor.

Cheers to ZM and he's been my favorite QB to watch play for LSU! Best of look and have a good career in the pros!

Thanks for being a Tiger Zach.
The only thing better than your play was the impeccable timing. You were there when we needed a QB (badly) and you played an integral part in rebuilding LSUs offensive confidence.
Clean up that knee and make a roster !

Mett, you're the man. No one will ever question your heart and passion you displayed when you laced it up for the Tigers.

A lot of people say you're a warrior - and that is the best possible word to describe you. You can tell by how emotional the team was when you were in front for the alma mater in your last game for LSU - you battled it out and gained the respect of many men.

You are appreciated. Thank you for a good two years, Mett - too bad it couldn't have been more!
