Let's pretend for a moment he stays at LSU and plays both football and baseball.

Is no one concerned that the person everyone believes is the future at QB will miss SIGNIFICANT practice time every spring while playing baseball?

I think its much easier for a WR or a DB, but can a QB at an SEC school miss that much practice for baseball and still be ready for the top SEC defenses seen almost every week?

Just curious if anyone else has thought of this, or are we too busy just hoping he stays and we'll figure out the rest later?

I think this. Let the coaches figure out the logistics. As a fan, I just hope he's at LSU.

I think he will ultimately choose one to play

He won't really be missing that much of either season. THe only thing he'll be missing out on is spring practices.

Yeah CLM and CPM have worked pretty well together on these types of things, like with Chad Jones. Paul Mainieri was even at the scrimmage the other day to watch Zach Lee.

Me too, because he'll be valuable no matter what sport he plays.

worry about that later... you can't say you don't want this guy to come to LSU. that's a good problem to have

I really don't foresee that much of an issue with missing either. As a pitcher he can go in and do his bullpen workouts at anytime with a catcher and pitching coach if needed. If as good as advertised he will be a weekend starter in baseball and so he may miss a weekend football practice if they have any. i see the two coaches getting together and scheduling to where he will miss as little as possible. should not be that difficult. Lets just get him here first.

Shouldn't be that much time missed. The weight room work can still be done. Assuming that Ranaudo does come to terms with Boston, Lee would most likely be our Friday starter so he would be free the rest of the weekend for film/coaches meetings and would simply throw bullpens during the week but he would not miss nearly as much football practice as a baseball position player would in my opinion. most pitchers end up shagging fly balls during BP or hitting fly balls to outfielders during practice on off days. I'm sure he would be excused from these activities for spring football practice! Once again...just my opinion!

Agreed, Gentlemen. Here's to hoping he stays and we get to argue about it later.

What he will miss is baseball. He is a pitcher only. He can be given a workout schedule and work on his own when needed.

He won't miss any football and he'll only miss very little baseball because he's a pitcher.

I think this can be done. I have.

Signed Kyle Parker.

He is an outfielder, so he plays everyday. Zach only has to worry about pitching, which he won't have to everyday, although I am aware they throw bullpen sessions.
