But the big boys (many of whom are pissed at Alleva and want him gone) not donating will definitely hurt.

we have seen no real evidence of this happening though. we need more notable alumni and boosters to speak out. otherwise it's just people complaining on the internet.

F King, do you guys not understand that presidents of universities are not typically removed over trivial things like the head basketball coach MAYBE offering money to a player.

King's list of failures goes way beyond the Athletic Department.
Also, college Presidents have lost their jobs over Athletic Department scandals.
Perhaps nothing will happen but LSU is hardly progressing in F King's tenure as President.
Of course, it's Louisiana, so we can't expect much in terms of change, accountability or progress. It doesn't matter who is in office or who controls the legislature, Louisiana stays mired in stagnation, corruption and failure to address the needs of his citizens.

I’m pretty sure that the general opinion among alumni is not quite as negative as it is on TD

Read comments on Facebook posts by local Baton Rouge outlets and look at the fan reaction during the Vandy game. This spans well beyond the rant.

Solid contribution. I’ll be sure and bump this thread when Wade is gone and Alleva is extended? People are acting like it’s so outlandish, but has the university given us any reason to think otherwise? They’re entirely out of touch.

Sorry brother, you are delusional if you think he won't be gone. i have seen Carl Maddox forced out, Bob Brodhead forced out, O'keefe forced out, all who did a whole lot more for this great university than has Alleva and dick head Alexander who all they have done is have the Anit Midas touch. I know you think people won't act but big money people are sick of this crap.

Dead wrong! The facts are:
1. His contract expires this July; no talk of an extension.
2. His comments in the media yesterday indicate he knows he's "dead man walking", and he is trying to create separation for himself individually with Wade. Those are not institutional comments.

This involves millions of dollars, it is not trivial.
The public relations nightmares between Joe Aleva, and F.King are infamous, now. Keeping it to sports, the Les Miles fired/not fired thing.
Leaking Jimbo coming/retaining Les Miles (yes, it is the same as above)
Tom Herman negotiations.
"I am the Search"
Parking prices on game days
Corporate tailgating on game days
The PVC Pipe.
Beyond this, the "holistic admissions" policy which is controversial, and again, bad public relations handling of the situation which I would assert that half of those involved do not like.

Results of this, it seems from other posts, that standards are actually up, but once on campus, these students are having less success.

Veterinary school scandal, paying hundreds of thousands of dollars to an instructor who did nothing. You KNOW alumni have seen this, and will question whether this guy can steward the resources available to LSU as they NOW launch a BILLION dollar fundraising campaign.

The continued troubles with the Greek system and F.King's seeming goal to destroy the male side of it. Look, I'm a GDI, I have no love for the fraternities. However, they have had their role in campus life for a century, give-or-take, and it appears for the world that F. King is out to eliminate or so minimize this aspect of campus life, that even non-sympathizers see it clearly. Again, it is horrible public relations.

It should be obvious to anyone who even pays a little attention to things beyond national sports media, that LSU is in a maelstrom right now, and seemingly no one appears to care except to try and strengthen their position in the pecking order and exert control instead of working together to portray this great university in its best light possible.

His contract is up in June. He will not be renewed or extended or it would've already been done. The Wade thing was the last nail in the coffin. He will not be the LSU AD by July.

Yeah.

Those were the comments of a guy trying to set himself up for his next gig.

This is how LSU will attempt to save face. Let him leave at the end of the contract to show how LSU honors contracts. Give him a big p.r. blowout all over the media. LSU will gush all over itself thanking him for making the tough decisions, standing strong in the face of withering media coverage....St. Joseph of Aleva.

Yet, we will be without him and nearly anyone with functioning thought processes will know why, and yet wonder with all the glory L.S.U. will lavish on Aleva, why did he not stay?

I can see it. It is, and will be, nauseatingly terrible.
