Feb. 8 at Vanderbilt 9:00 - L
Feb. 11 Alabama 7:00 - W
Feb. 14 Mississippi State 9:00 - W
Feb. 18 at South Carolina 1:30 - W
Feb. 22 Georgia 8:00 - W
Feb. 25 at Ole Miss 1:30 - W
Feb. 29 Tennessee 9:00 - W
Mar. 3 at Auburn 2:00 - W

That would be 21-9 11-5 SEC record. Win a game in the SEC and your in the NIT at least, maybe last 4 in bubble wise

I think a more realistic way to look at it:

Wins: at Auburn, Tennessee (H), at Ole Miss, Georgia (H), South Carolina (H), Arkansas (H)

Losses: Kentucky (H), at Florida, at Vanderbilt

Need to go 1-2: at MSU, Alabama (H), MSU (H)

I think we've pounded to death that 21-11, 9-7 in conference is enough to get into the NCAAs.

Win where we "should", and get ONE GAME out of the rest. That's all they need to do (and win one or two in the SEC tournament.)

I don't understand why everyone thinks we need to finish at 24-6 or else we'll end up the NIT.

Who's with me?

Ole Miss W 1-0
Alabama L 1-1
-------------
@Arkansas W 2-1
Auburn W 3-1
@Florida L 3-2
@Miss St L 3-3
Kentucky L 3-4
Arkansas W 4-4
@Vanderbilt L 4-5
Alabama W 5-5
Miss St L 5-6
@South Carolina W 6-6
Georgia W 7-6
@Ole Miss W 8-6
Tennessee W 9-6
@Auburn L 9-7

If they win two in the tourney, they'll finish at 21-12 and will NOT get in the NCAA tournament, but with a recruit or two, this team will be a top 25 squad next season!

very unlikely this squad gets a bid to NCAA--They cant shoot, rebound particularly well, or pass the ball well. Stringer acts like the ball is hot and cant wait to shoot-( and of course, miss badly!)

Remeber, bama didnt make tourney last year and they were division champs!

Have you even watched this year's squad, that sounds like you just have highlights of last year's team. This team can rebound (see Hickey averaging 4.5 at the point). Shooting is spotty. Passing hasn't been an issue outside of the two SEC games we lost.

Oh and

LSU is an NIT lock. Which is fantastic for where we've been.

I don't see a realistic way of how they make it through this schedule.

The future is getting much brighter, though.

I was talking about this with a friend of mine. Say we miss the NCAA but get a 1 or 2 seed in the NIT. Therefore we host until we lose or make the semis.

Wouldn't that almost be better for the program this year b/c it'd help draw a ton of interest back to the program. I'm sure someone will have my head for saying that, but really getting a decent NIT seed wouldn't be a horrible thing

I hadn't really thought about that and it is a good point. I'm not sure which way I stand on it though.

Might finish 19-11 and that would be NIT.

I think making the NIT & winning a few games in it would be a decent accomplishment for them. But this team must learn to rebound better--no excuse for Auburn getting all those chances at 3-pointers at the end of regulation, but atleast LSU won. The squad does look to be improved over last season, but let's face it, there was no where to go but up!

Don't get why people are saying we can't rebound because of one play... LSU has out rebounded their opponent in 12 games and got out rebounded in 6. They are +40 on the year in rebounds. And just so you don't say "Well some of those numbers came against crappy opponents"

Our 5 biggest games of the season
@Rutgers +5
Marquette +3
UVA -6
@Bama -10 (ouch on this one)
@Arky +8

They have moments where they can't seem to rebound at all, but for the most part they have rebounded pretty well all season.

I'll be happy with the NIT because that's still a sign of progress.

I think they need to win at least 8 of the last 12 games. And win 1 in the sec tourney

Given the conference rank and a relatively strong showing against a good ooc schedule I agree with this. Defeating two Big East schools and an ACC school will go a long way with the selection committee come March. Personally, I think the JOB injury was a huge setback and has already cost them one win(Ark). If he can come back for the entire second half of the SEC schedule this may be doable.

Hoping he's back for UK... Seems to be right in that timetable for his return, especially with TJ saying that he wants to play now, but they are holding him out until he is pain free.

JI to play the role he played last game against Auburn, with no TO or maybe 1,add a couple of steals,shoot long shots, from the corners only,he sees the rim well there, this year. And, R.Turner, do no less than what he did on offense and add 4-5 rebounds. The rest will take care of itself.
