Vernel is one of my all time favorites, but he doesn't deserve to be on anyones all time team. Very good, not great player. Too many others to include him. I don't think he's even top 30.

John Williams would definitely be on my top 5 team...He was a man among boys when he played in the McDonalds high school game and did not disappoint at LSU, except for that Chris Webber-esque moment he had against UGA.

John Williams was an incredibly smooth and awesome basketball player.

ETA: I'll even go as far to say that if John Williams were a senior in high school today, he'd be considered one of the top 3 players in the nation.

LSU's historic starting 5 could hang with anyone in the nation

That 1st team ain't gonna work for me without Martin at point. Too many shooters.

You could run that starting 5 out against any other schools top 5 and likely be favored

I would have to definitely agree. I loved Vernel though.

I would have to include Ronnie Henderson in my top ten.

You are correct sir. Everybody is also forgetting about Scales. A great player in any era.

If Rudy Macklin had even a little bit of an 8 to 10 ft jumper he would have been all-world.
