The current administration couldn’t give two shits about the city

New Orleanians know how to party. Wish tourists would get their chit together and not puke, urinate, and trash out city.

Wow, a real French Quarter Virgin!

It’s smelled that way as long as I can remember.
I described it as vomit, stale urine, beer and the Mississippi River way back in 1986 or so.
Part of the native ambience

Nah! Wouldn’t be the quarter if they did. Keep your head on a swivel.

I owned and ran a B&B in the Marigny from 2001-2014. Had people from all over the world stay with us. Most people would spend the vast majority of time on Bourbon Street. It always pissed me off because they missed out on a lot good places in the city. No longer live in NOLA. Happy for the time I was there but you couldn’t give me a place there today.

Isn't that when Mitch Landrieu or someone on the city council said something to the effect of New Orleans isn't Disneyworld and the city declined to renew the contract?
We stayed in the quarter a few times during that Contract period. It was so nice walking to breakfast with the quarter smelling nice and looking remarkable clean.

Better stay out of the alleys and doorways..Southern Decadence have taken the 1/4 over

Anyplace that has alleys and restaurants will smell like that with the number of people that place sees. There's an alleyway near Market Square in Knoxville when I first came upon it said "smells like home."

Do you think the decadence festival had anything to do with that?

Yeah, I wonder how many Florida State fans had no idea they would be spending the weekend with the Southern Decadence crew? They'll never take a trip to New Orleans again.

Wow. Imagine that. After all these years I always thought that’s what gave the French Quarters it’s charm. I bet it’s smelling ripe right about now.

The Florida State fans need to be warned, "That's not gum on the bottom of your shoe."

I'm 56. Visited multiple multiple times going back to my youth. I've never known it NOT to stick badly.
