Folks are so desperate they see a halfway competent coach down the interstate and want to give him the job no questions asked.

I think Napier would be the first choice for a very small portion (<100) of LSU fans. Sure, he is a potential candidate.

I think LSU fans are mostly drooling to get rid of O.

you meant the coach that turned around a program coming off 3 losing seasons and has improved their record every year going

7-7
11-3
10-1
&
currently 5-1????

same coach that has slowly and mythodically raised their overall composite talent from 5th in conference to 2nd in conference. from 2 four stars & 18 three stars to 3 four stars and 48 three stars.

that coach down the interstate?

Would it make you feel better if he was doing what he was doing at say, idk, North Texas or Middle Tennessee State?

His organizational skills are elite and his ability to build a really strong foundation for the Ragin Cajun program has been outstanding.

Let's clarify this is a Sunbelt Conference school whose had some modicum of success against the Big 12

Some guys can just coach really well despite limited experience.
Remember this guy?

As a coach:
William & Mary (2013–2014)
Linebackers coach

Penn State (2015–2016)
Graduate assistant

New Orleans Saints (2017–2018)
Offensive assistant

LSU (2019)
Passing game coordinator & wide receivers coach

Carolina Panthers (2020–present)
Offensive coordinator

Xactly. Thankfully, SW is in charge of this hire

Not saying THAT GUY can't coach, but some guys are also lucky enough to have MULTIPLE generational talent type of guys on a team at the same time.

That wasn't an example of taking a bunch of 3-stars and turning them into what they were.

That was taking a bunch of elite players, giving them direction, and then getting out of their way.

Which, to your point, is also good coaching...

Yeah, and that’s the same one playing a schedule ranked 112 in the nation. If we take him do we get to play his same schedule??

I’m sure he’s a good coach but I would like one who has played a number of big boys a yr as opposed to maybe one

What's sad is eliminating a candidate before they are interviewed. So many people think we are "too good" to take a coach from a smaller school or a coordinator because we are LSU. That mind set will possibly keep you from getting the right hire... What if Ohio State, Oklahoma, Georgia, Clemson would've thought that way? All these teams have been in the playoffs with while Penn State, Michigan, etc have been watching from the side lines.

I am all about taking the best coach who is the right fit, I don't care where he is coming from.

I’d rather have Louisiana’s WarHawks head coach
