Woodward is literally the laughing stock of college football shows and podcasts right now. Rex Ryan is making fun of him for pete's sake. You want someone with that image running our athletic department, and making a huge hire?

This is all academic because Woodward is going to be shown the door by the new president. I'm as happy for the Jay and Kim hires as anyone, but that doesn't buy you a mulligan for a football hire that turned out to be a disaster on a national stage. The millions of people watching our game on ABC Saturday night saw all the embarrassing dysfunction in real time.

Do you know how much money we are losing in women’s basketball? The smallest minority of people actually care we win. We lost $8.5mil+ a year. We have never had worse financials than under Woodward. The main thing about sports to create revenue and put our school in a setting to get more students and money. Women’s basketball doesn’t get ppl to come to school here and it greatly hinders our budget

Agreed. We're about to fire a top 10 AD and let a circus show make this next LSU hire

The 2 biggest sports are football and men’s basketball and his hires there have been colossal failures. There’s nothing more to it than that

He read it here from another poster who had no clue. And other posters reading it will in turn repeat it as fact. It's fits what they want to believe.

Oh? Post the financials for the athletic department. Let us all see in black and white what the “worse financials” ever at LSU looks like.

He signed two pf the worst if not the worst deals in college football over the last 10 years. I mean what else is there. I know he is well liked here but thats enough for me. I dont see how anyone could trust him to negotiate another deal. He needs to go.

It’s 27 million!!! I wish people would stop about the 54 million!

Link?

Heres mine .... centered significantly on Kelly’s $53.8 million buyout.
Yours is not contradictory to the $27M claim. Discussion "centered on the buyout," does not speak to the actual payout. The discussion would be wide-ranging and involve money sourcing, mitigation, budget impact, negotiation strategy, etc

Correct, but Jimbo signed the extension with the big buyout after the 2020 season.

Can’t be said enough!
Somehow everyone wants to overlook this and piled on Landry. Landry just reigned in on the rudderless no president shite happening at LSU. How did LSU get in the shape it’s in to begin with?

Along with this he hired Brian Kelly, who at the time he hired him was a sure fire top 10 coach a A+ hire on paper. How is it Woodward’s fault that Brian Kelly was lazy and mailed it in?

True.

But there are some that still hold a grudge on the handling of the Will Wade situation.

So it was entirely Woodys fault

Agreed. If we step back and look at who had their hands in that contract, it's Woody period.

And people are rightfully criticizing Fat Scott; however, Landry needs to stfu.

No problem with Woodard. I dont think any AD needs to negotiate money on a contract. Leave that to professionals.

He's completely tanked the two biggest sports

Women's basketball titles and baseball titles are nice but that's not what you get remembered for

plus he's just gross to look at he has to go

Discussion "centered on the buyout,"

Why did you intentionally leave out the specific $53.8M buyout?

Because that was the purpose of the meeting, AFTER Woodward and Kelly had their falling out

OK, lets go over this slowly

SW gave Jimbo a $75M, 10 year contract
SW offered Jimbo a $125M, 10 year contract to come to LSU
SW gave Kelly, a $100M, 10 year contract instead

If Scott had his way, we would have been in the same bucket with Jimbo that A&M was. We got in that bucket with Kelly instead

It doesnt change the fact that SW just throws guaranteed money at coaches, who then underperform. He needs to be gone. Yesterday
