That's fair. I shouldn't have said by far the best in the country. We were on par with the rest. I do agree we definitely went cheap. It's a shame that there have been minimal improvements since then besides scoreboard upgrades.

We completed the suites, the players got a performance center, the purple seatbacks were replaced with some nice ergonomic material, the scoreboard got bigger and we added the (now unsponsored) planet fitness board.

That’s all that’s been done in 14 years. Pretty fricking sad.

Has Woodward publicly commented on Box upgrades yet?

In an interview with Jay a few months ago, he commented he had plans for stuff on his desk right now. No idea what those plans are exactly of.

Facilities were the best way to recruit players. In the NIL era it doesn’t make as much sense to put more money into facilities vs NIL

You’re right. Giving the audience more reasons to stay home is a great business plan.

You do know that you can donate with stipulations that it goes to the upgrade of the baseball stadium.

assure you people would rather have new bleachers or chairbacks out there.

My tickets are in left. The bleachers are fricking terrible. Skips' full of shite. Nobody with a brain wanted those things.

LSU was the first SEC program to build a “modern” stadium. How did they get it so, so wrong?

When you upgrade last, you get to make it the best.

It sucks sitting out in LF for big games. Everyone is crammed right on top of each other out there. There’s little room to be comfortable out there.

We’re about to whip their arse and you’re complaining that they have more tables and tents in the outfield than us baw.

The timing has nothing to do with a conversation that’s been taking place since our cheap stadium was built.

You are a smart guy. What do you think the % split of reasons people showing up to watch a sporting event are as far as facilities vs. product on the field?

You could have had an NBA arena and people werent going to show up to watch that dumpster fire of a basketball team, yet the WOMEN would pack the shithole PMAC. Why? Because they are good.

Are facilites nice? Sure, but having a superior product matters far, far more for putting butts in seats. Also baseball has been sold out for season tickets for 30 years.

Unfortunately, as much as Coach Skip Bertman helped to elevate LSU baseball and the SEC overall, his fingerprints are all over the new Box to maximize 'profits' and not account for the fan's experience and comfort. Hence, the God awful bleachers that seat thousands and thousands of fans.

Imagine going to a game for multiple reasons. It’s fun to be there. It’s comfortable. The food is good. The play is good. You get to enjoy it with everyone around you. Why is only one of these important? If all that matters to get people is winning big games, then people will only go to the big games that we can win. That’s not sustainable.

ETA: And let’s not pretend that all these great baseball players are here for NIL. Most of them give it away. They come for the atmosphere, the coach, the experience. Fewer fans because of a shite fan experience affects them too.

All im saying is that in the NIL era, donors have a choice to make. It used to be just pumped into facilities. Now they have a choice. Would i like both? Sure. But i'd rather us assemble super teams using NIL money and watch from bleachers.

Our best players aren’t taking NIL money.
