I've missed one LSU game due to a wedding. Apparently, it was because I didn't make myself clear about my rule regarding missing LSU game - I don't do it.

My wife would have been okay with me skipping the wedding but my mother-in-law would have given her an extensive guilt trip. I sucked it up for her, but made it clear to all family members that this was a one time deal and wouldn't happen again.

my cousin had a wedding in Austin two years ago during the Auburn game...We had about 35 people in the back room watching it..It was a great game...then we got busted and had to run back and forth the rest of the night...it was funny...never will i go to another...

I can see skipping a random cousin or a somewhat friend's wedding, but I would never skip an immediate family members or close friend's wedding because it was during a LSU game.

There are more important things in life than LSU football.

I had that problem with the Chick Fil A Bowl and GT. Girlfreinds cousin got married on New Years Eve of all fricking times and I went, after an extensive amount of bitching, but sat upstairs at the reception the entier game and watched it with about 20 other dudes. Last time im doing it.

says the guy who has a wedding on the same day as the LSU-Tennessee game

j/k - I agree to a certain extent, but why is it that people insist on having their weddings on the same day as when most locals will be preoccupied with something else? There are about 350 other days in the year. Choose one, and don't let this become an issue in the first place.

After watching LSU lose to Bama for over a decade, I missed it when LSU finally beat them in 1998 due to poor wedding planning by a friend...

Any person that would schedule a wedding on an LSU game and be upset about you not showing is not your friend.

No offense, but if you are legitimately upset about people skipping your wedding after you schedule it on an LSU game, you're a selfish prick.

I wouldn't be upset if someone skipped my wedding for the Tennessee game. I just wouldn't consider them very good friends.

When me and my fiancee sat down to schedule our wedding, whether or not it was during a LSU game was far from our minds.

and you are the kind of people that everyone here is complaining about........selfish on yall part

Grow some balls. When I proposed to my wife, and we started thinking about a wedding date, the first thing I brought up was that it couldn't be the day of an LSU or Saint football game.

Getting Married Oct. 2nd at 4..Will miss some of the Tenn game. Going on a 7 day cruise...Might end up missing the Florida game if the Cruise Line doesn't have a sports bar with the game on...

Anyone dumb enough to have a wedding/ event on a saturday night, in the fall, in Louisiana, deserves to have exactly 4 people show up at their wedding.

I've got a wedding to go to on the same day as the Tennessee game as well. I don't think it's all that big a deal to miss a game...it's not like LSU isn't going to play other games this year or the next or the year after.

Christ. It's just a game.
