First and foremost, the fact that most people getting married have no true clue as to who exactly is at their wedding and who isnt. Especially with a large wedding. I have skipped friend's weddings for LSU games and not only are we still good friends, they didnt even know I wasnt there.

We aren't having a big wedding. All of my close friends are in my wedding, so I know they will be attending.

I wouldn't care if any of the other friends decided to skip.

Yearly Topic: Fall Weddings / Parties
Any of you unlucky enough to be attending any events during the fall that will cause you to miss an LSU game?

Wedding @ 7 pm on 9/18. I'm actually hoping for a day game.

Any friend of mine that schedules a wedding on an LSU gameday is not a true friend. How bout them apples?

Again, just because you don't care about it, doesn't mean that all of those people that you expect to show up that day don't care about it.

Hell I got married on the first Saturday of May and pushed the start time from 6 to 630 so we could watch the Kentucky Derby before we had to leave for the church.

A good friend would not skip another friend's wedding (arguably one of the biggest days of his/her life) for a LSU game.

Like I said, I tend not be friends with selfish pricks who would schedule their wedding on an LSU game then get upset when people didn't come.

First off, aint no kids around here junior. Second off, I know what my friends expect of me and vice versa so if me not going someones wedding would be offensive to a person....then I am not their freind.

Yes, I'm a selfish prick.

And I can assure you, nobody they I invited will skip my wedding to attend the Tennessee game. I know this because I don't have shitty friends.

Really?

You have a best friend for 25 years. You decide to get married, invite him to your wedding, and he says "nah, I'd rather go fishing." You wouldn't be somewhat upset about that? Really?

You're full of shite if you say "No".

Stop comparing something that happens 7 times per year to something you can do every day.

I guess I'm going to have to break down why we chose Oct. 2nd for our wedding date.

1 - I proposed last October. We wanted a year engagement to save the most money we possibly could so that we would have a nice down payment for a house once we were married

2 - We are having an outdoor wedding, so we wanted it relatively cool. Not hot. Not cold.

3 - September = too hot; November = too cold

4 - We settled on October 2nd do to our honeymoon location.

God, what shitty people we are.

I used fishing because he said he should be able to skip his friends wedding "for whatever reason" and his friend shouldn't get upset.

You are extremely selfish and self-centered. I would image that you are the type of person that enjoys dictating what others should do even when it has no affect on your life.

It's your wedding, not theirs. If you want to set it on an LSU game, have at it. But the fact that you would actually be upset or "not consider them a good friend" because the chose to attend the game instead of your wedding makes you seem very petty and selfish.

I had a friend schedule his wedding for an LSu game a few years back. He flat out told us that, while we were invited, he didn't expect us to come and would not be upset if we missed it.

He's a decent guy, not someone who thinks way too highly of themselves.

The moral of this diatribe is that you need to realize you aren't that important.

Sure I'd be upset if he wanted to go fishing. He can do that all day leading up to the wedding.

Would I be upset if he said, "nah man, there is an LSU home game that day. Sorry." frick no, becuase there are only 7 of those a year.

And full of shite? Really? Why do you think that every thinks like your needy arse? I don't have to have my friends there to enjoy myself. And if they think that an LSU football game would be more fun than my wedding, then good for them and thats where they need to be.

GTFO of here with this needy little girl shite. Im a grown fricking man and so are my friends if they choose to do something else and I bitch about it, I dont deserve to have friends in the first place.
