Extend your engagement another 4-5 months.

I proposed last October. We wanted a year engagement to save the most money we possibly could so that we would have a nice down payment for a house once we were married

Okay, wait another 5 months and you can save more money and not piss off LSU football fans

We are having an outdoor wedding, so we wanted it relatively cool. Not hot. Not cold.

again, wait 5 months longer in that March to April range and this is satisfied

march or april

You gathered all of this because I would expect my closest friends to attend my wedding.

No you dipshit, because you would be upset with them or not consider them a good friend if they did. You have a high feeling of self worth dont you?

Not at all, you just remind me of one of my girlfriends freinds that thinks the whole world has to revolve around her and will pout and get mad at people that dont do what she wants. Hence the "needy little girl" comment.

When me and my fiancee sat down to schedule our wedding, whether or not it was during a LSU game was far from our minds.

I hope no one shows up to your wedding.

No, not really, but I can see how what I'm saying can be seen as being self-centered. I assure you, I'm not screaming "But it's MY wedding!!!"

And all of this arguing is mute because all of my close friends (the ones that I would expect to be there), are attending my wedding and have not said a peep about not being able to attend the LSU game. If I did have a friend that I knew would be upset about missing a LSU game, I would not ask them to be in my wedding and I wouldn't be upset if they went to the game instead.

The game will be on a TV in a back room during the reception. They are more than welcome to go watch the game. I'll be back there.

How self-centered can one person be?

She wanted to get married this spring actually, it was my idea to wait and save for the house.

She agreed to wait a year, but she didn't want to wait till the next spring.

And they wouldn't because they are being nice. I guarantee you that they have had this discussion amongst themselves.

I don't want people to have to take off from work to come to my wedding.

I had one of my best friends get married this past weekend. When he proposed and they started planing he told me "I sat down with the Football season schedule and the Hunting season dates, becuase I want all of my friends at my wedding." So he did, and he scheduled his wedding the weekend before hunting season and football season started. And because of it, everyone was looking forward to it and there was a great turnout and it was BY FAR the best time I have ever had at a wedding reception. Moral of the story; just because its your wedding day, doesnt mean it has to be ALL about you.
