Nope, try again, would much rather that schedule, agian, right now, we're looking at 3-4 top TEN teams, with 2 being Top 5. This isn't even counting Mississippi State who most folks have around 15-20ish

It never works out that way though, so it's kind of a silly argument.

When the 2017 schedule was first announced, that also looked pretty daunting, especially with 5 SEC road games. No one foresaw the total implosions of BYU, Florida, Tennessee or Arkansas.

Who isn't expecting improvement? These threads are confusing.

I'm guessing 90% of the fan base expected improvement

Nope. It would mean that he did something good coaches do.

Brady hoke went 11-2 at Michigan.

Is brady hoke a good coach??

Not too soon for a competent coach. We have Eaux. If you gave him 20 years I wouldnt expect results... good ones anyway.

So you dismiss where our 2014 opponents were ranked at certain points in the season as irrelevant because of where they finished, while in the same breath you pump up the 2018 opponents based solely on preseason rankings?

(Coaches) Preseason rankings of our 2017 schedule:

1. Alabama
13. Auburn
16. Florida
24. Tennessee

vs.

2018
Top 5 Bama
Top 5 UGA
Top 10 Miami
Top 10/15 Auburn
Top 20 MSU

I mean, I can keep going here...

I posted the 2014 preseason rankings for reference as well, not even close, once again

I don’t care what you say about the schedule.

It’s not a valid excuse for Orgeron to go worse than 10-2.

frick that.

And in the face of facts, folks crumble

By the way, I never used schedule as an "Excuse" for anything, I just think it's hilarious people think this is a "normal" schedule for us, it's most definitely tougher than normal, no question about it.

Good coaches find ways to win even if it’s a tough schedule

I wasn’t arguing 2014.

But 2011 was tougher and Les went undefeated.

Except it wasn't, it was maybe as tough, but you can argue 2018's easily tougher first hand, I already put out the rankings.

I am NOT doubting 2011 was a tough schedule, it absolutely was, which just goes to show how ridiculously tough 2018's schedule looks when there's legit argument right now 2018's is tougher on first hand look.

Anything less than 10-3, even with the schedule will be disappointing. I'm hoping for 11-2 or better.

It’s obvious by the insane number of posts and work you’re putting in that you’re trying to set up the schedule as an excuse for Orgeron to fall short again and still be considered good.

Did you even read the thread? I’d love for you to point out what’s miserable about it.

Except, again, I'm sitting here literally telling you I am not using it as an excuse for anything. I am merely comparing schedules and showing why this schedule is absolutely a tougher than normal schedule and people are having a really rough time trying to find a comparable one we even played to it. Dont make a narrative out of something that isn't.

Please do.

Looking at the talent on the rosters versus media preseason rankings...

If he can't win those games, he doesn't deserve to be paid millions of dollars.
