I agree. No way umps will call it consistently in sec play. They will use it as a weapon against coaches and players who give them shite about calls. Watch. Umps are butthurt children.

May need to tweak the time limit just a bit so not so much in hurry up rush mode.

I absolutely love the changes. Once people get used to it, it might even attract some people who haven't typically watched a four-hour marathon of scratching and spitting.

Commercials same in all sports. They tweaked NFL and college football rules to speed up the game but dare touch commercials. Money.

I doubt it seriously.

This game will still be about 3 hours, and it was a total dominant pitching performance from one team and low scoring through the early innings.

I don't see how the rushing of everything will speed up the game much at all. A 3-1 game will go pretty quickly and a 11-8 game will last over 3 hours, just like always.

Yeah, the games could still be long if there's lots of scoring, but there will actually be something going on instead of hitters and pitchers strolling around and coaches trying to string out mound visits for as long as possible.

I'm a fan of LSU and Dodgers' baseball, but I also got really tired of the constant downtime associated with the game. The changes will be good for the game, and yes, I do think some casual fans will be more interested in baseball.

I like the timing changes and hope they will be enforced equitably. I like the 10 run rule in SEC play as well.

I mean, I'm not going to sit here and say "the game was too fast!". But as far as the rules, I don't think a batter should get a strike for taking more than 10 seconds. I don't think you need to take more time than that between every single pitch, but in crucial situations, I think a batter should be able to step back and collect himself once in a while. 10 seconds seems a rather extreme limit for that.
