Yahoo is still trying. But they have not come up with a smoking gun linking Smart to money funneled by LSU. And Smart's mentor already testified to the NCAA last week and gave nothing up.

This actually good news. If Shannon says Wade never made me any offer, then it should be end of story, unless the NCAA can prove otherwise. NCAA would have a tough time with that because it has no subpoena power and no ability to make this this individual cooperate with any investigation.

Exactly, LSU said they identified the handler before the SEC Tournament. Presumably they interviewed him and got nothing or he refused to talk to LSU/NCAA (because he has no obligation to do so).
The fact that Smart played tends to show he talked to LSU/NCAA and they found nothing improper.

Also the article states that Forman was involved with a Houston team that was usually a reliable pipeline to Kentucky. Me thinks someone is pissed that Wade shutoff the spigot.

Im pretty sure Shannon was one of the people interviewed by LSU/NCAA to clear smart for play. Not a chance in hell that guy is ratting himself out to the ncaa
