That would be Notre Shame's worst nightmare. Can you imagine the beat down they would take? Maybe worse than the Sugar in 06

At the end of the 1993 season, the Irish beat Texas A&M 24-21, their last bowl victory.

Since then, they have lost an NCAA-record nine straight bowl games

That should be enough reason alone to not have them surpass an SEC team going to the Cotton.

but it would be hilarious to see ND get smoked by Tx or TT

Wow, I would love to see TT play ND and hang 100 on them!
I heard some arrogant NDer commentator on Bill King this morning....they live in LALA land!

this could be a blessing in disquise, I think unless our d really steps up a big 12 offense THIS year might hang 100 on us.

I know, I know... We should have the ND starters play the ND second string instead of watching those other January bowls. Rumor is that ND is so overrated that their 2nd string would be the early favorite. Go figure.

please cotton take nd over LSU. go ahead and do it. I would love to watch nd be skull fricked up and down the field in big d. that would prob send LSU to peach/outback where we could beat down a acc or lil 10

These non-BCS bowls are nothing more than exhibition games that are focused on creating interest and making money. Notre Dame has a national alumni base and are coveted by these bowl games. Deserving has nothing to do with it. It's not exactly "fair" but it's reality.

If the cotton bowl takes ND, that would free up some interesting options for LSU's destination. LSU vs. FSU in the Chick-Fil-A, anyone?

Could you see Okla vs ND?

I'd still like to go to the Cap one

The only way I want to see ND in a bowl game is if we play their sorry asses.

So, ND would pair up against and SEC team or a Big12 team. Either way they get the crap beat out of them.

But since the Big 12 is an offense dominated conference and sice ND could not run w/ them I'd put the over under on a OU/TT/UT vs ND matchup at 75 for the Big 12 rep and maybe 9 for ND.

Total Humiliation.

The only reason this upsets me is that I live in Dallas and want to see LSU play here. Other than that, who cares what exhibition game you go to, once its not the BCS? As long as its New Years Day, I'm cool with it. Could we go to Tampa in this scenario? Or are they still bound to go SEC East?

that is the lone reason id like to see them go to the cotton bowl. the big 12 south team would run it up on nd.

then LSU can pound fsu in the peach

I know why.

Its because they have Dr. Lou.

A man of that stature linked with a team of that caliber is clearly superior.

Hell they should probably just go to the National Championship.

Maybe cause there fans don't empty a stadium baling out on their team before half time even starts.

Concession sales count.

Well....like they have always said even though college football fans haven't had to worry about it in recent history.........if your team is competing against the Irish for the national championship......your team better go undefeated and Notre Dame better lose twice

Follow the $$$$!
They travel and sell tickets, fill hotels, and TV networks love them. Their fans stay the entire game and watch their miserable team, unlike a certain SEC fan-base that deserted their team at halftime.
