But when the LSU faithful invade other college towns, they have a nasty habit of leaving wreckage behind. They beat your football team. And then they drink your beer.
Modern day vikings.

I don’t drink anymore but i have to admit that’s an impressive amount. I always wondered how much would be consumed if Tiger Stadium could sell beer.

Do they keep statistics on how many women get seduced by visiting fans when LSU football travels? Pretty sure we would lead in that category as well.

That’s when LSU fans smashed their own record. By the time the game was over, Tiger Stadium had sold 60,687 beers, according to university records.
How many times over do y’all think we surpass that 61k tailgating outside the stadium? 10x’s?

anyway to read the article without being a subscriber? Will it be in one of their papers. I’d like a copy

It’s not just beer. We went to 3 different bars after the 2001 SEC championship and all were out of Crown Royal. One bartender commented: “y’all came in like a swarm of locusts and we were out of almost everything before we knew what hit us.”

If my math is correct, assuming a beer in TS is 12 oz, the day LSU fans broke their own record, they consumed almost 5700 gallons of beer inside the stadium!!!!!

When you are on the bottom of any list that counts and do not know how to change that you have to be proud of something. Apply this to people in life. Evaluate the guy that brags about how many mich ultras he can drink. It will say much about his lot in life.

Remember the 2011 Oregon game in Dallas. Our section ran out of beer in the 3rd Qtr. The guy behind the counter said he had never seen anything like it.

I know it. Just spitballing here but I’d imagine it’d be around 280,000 beers and $2M. Just a guess though- too bad we’ll never know.

Now the Tigers are playing the last game of the season in one American city that has never been confused for a place that would run out of alcohol. Sally Stiel, the LSU Alumni Association’s senior director of alumni engagement, says the group is used to working “very, very closely with food and beverage managers” to address their spiritual needs. This weekend required less work. “We’re not worried about New Orleans,” said Mignon Kastanos, the organization’s director of marketing.
The official alumni events before the game include an open bar at Walk-On’s Sports Bistreaux, a bar co-owned by an LSU alumnus and a local football aficionado named Drew Brees. Meanwhile, at the Bayou Beer Garden across town, bartenders have devised a highly sophisticated distributing method during LSU games, said owner David Demarest. They find some buckets and fill them with Bud Light and Miller Lite.
“Every bar is doing beer buckets,” Demarest said. “Even the wine bar.”
Hell, during the Alabama game at Legends, they ran out of beer for the buckets and we had to keep switching...and you think Legends would know after all these years!!!

I was at that game, and my section ran out after halftime. The concession stand manager said, and I’ll never forget it, “Ya’ll Cajuns are incredible, and have drank every single beer Jerry Jones had in the stadium”.
