I just finished reading this. It is excellent and well worth anyone's time. Thompson is a great writer.

What a wanna be Louisianan..
He tries to claim crawfish as a "Mississippi" thing, Talks about last season as something a fan only sees "once in a lifetime"....(LSU fans have seen it 2 times in the last 15 years)..how Billy Cannon ruined their lives...
The entire article lays out why Ole Miss is Jealous of LSU and Louisiana.
It's really cringe...I wouldn't reminisce about how my 13 year old cousin broke a TV? That's being emotionally unhinged, way beyond what a sports rivalry should be.
This whole article makes me sad that people who have this much going on in their lives exist, and even worse, that they go through so much to try and make themselves feel better about it.

It’s a little long and schticky but overall well done. A much better use of time than listening to Finebaum, Pate, Stephen A and Portnoy dish out hot takes.

I'm not familiar with him as much as others I guess judging by other replies in this thread. But I thought it was a well written piece. I enjoyed the history lessons especially about the Cannon family. It's a breath of fresh air from all the outrage-bait media we've seen all week.
