What happened showed incredibly poor judgement.
It's ok for guard and linebacker prospects to err this way. Not for quarterback prospects. Especially QB prospects already with baggage.

I saw it too. If Mett doesn't care enough to pass the drug test (if it's a legit fail) at the combine of all places a lot of teams probably won't even consider drafting him.

I don't think it was attempted to be inflammatory, they just seemed to be taking the presumptive, negative outlook on it. You're always going to be guilty in the court of public opinion when something like this comes up. If he's retested and it comes up negative, then all is forgiven.
Still, Mel's kind of a dipshit. He retroactively talked down Mett's abilities based off this. I mean, I kind of find it hard to believe that he was a 4th round pick preceding this.

I'm puzzled by this. Usually a flagged test that's "diluted" also has traces of something in it. If mett's test was JUST diluted & it was what his PT says it is, then why would it matter? "He used poor judgement in his choice to drink too much water"? Seriously? We talkin bout water, man? Water ?

I highly doubt this affects him in any major way. This late in the process teams already know what he's about and if he's their guy, he's their guy. A watered down piss sample isn't gonna change that.
