Did Mett ever fail a drug test during his 32P2 days at LSU?

I don't buy the PED angle. Isn't he under the care of Dr. Marrucci, LSU's team Doctor?

I still think he probably made a stupid mistake and smoked before he went up to Indy. Same as the other 9 names.

What happened showed incredibly poor judgement.

It's ok for guard and linebacker prospects to err this way. Not for quarterback prospects. Especially QB prospects already with baggage
You sir are a fricking moron. His piss test was flagged because there wasn't enough urine. He drank too much water. His physician confirmed it.

Does anyone remember this young man leaving everything out of the field last year? Playing hurt, taking shots that would have been an excuse for most NFL prospects to sit it out (Deuce McAllister, Ted Ginn, etc.)was a weekly thing for Mett. Remember the tears in his eyes singing the alma mater when it was all over. And now 3/4 quarters of the people on this board are going to throw him under the bus. Let's wait and see how this plays out. "Mel and Todd" and their opinions are like assholes. Everyone has one. I'm hoping Mett is successful and I am grateful for the great year that he gave us.

i've tested "diluted" on numerous occasions and i was clean. it happens...not saying he wasn't trying to cover something up but it does happen more often than you think.

i would imagine there is no "re-takes" on this as another poster mentioned he would have to wait an hour and piss again. i doubt the nfl would allow that.

Mett wasn't working out the week of the combine.

How would you possibly know this? Either way, why would he not be rehabbing and working out any that week?

Why would he drink a gallon of water within 24hrs of a drug test when any doctor would tell him it would dilute his urine and cause a flagged test? I would think his trainer and team had enough forethought to give him a day or two off while at the biggest job interview of his life.

Exactly. The rehab of this injury, especially to get to an NFL-ready state would probably be pretty tough. He wasn't ready to show off his workouts in front of scouts, but that doesn't mean he skipped his regularly scheduled rehab workouts as well.

"Diluted sample is same as positive sample in the eyes of the NFL"
______________________________________________
Mmmm, no. a diluted sample is a "flag". a Pos sample is a failed test.
He wasn't "working out" or claimed to be working out at the combine, as some of you idiots have surmised; he was rehabbing his knee. His trainer told him to drink between 1 and 1.5 gallons of water per day, and increase salt and potassium, to keep the cramping at bay so that he can continue with rehab. His test results specifically said that there was no trace of any banned substance, it is merely a matter of concentration that they are looking for. The teams are reported to be aware of the situation and have expressed understanding.
Mel Kiper has always been a self-absorbed idiot. I couldn't give a crap about his opinion on the subject. Same goes for Todd McMuffy.

Mett didn't work out at the Combine all he did was take the Wonderlic and meet with Teams to answer questions. Why on earth would you need to over-hydrate for that? Now you can go into a hundred different tangents from there but the fact is he needed to use his brain a little more and so do you!!!

So Mett is done rehabbing?

and how much water do you think normal athletes drink that are still training and working out etc in the heat and everything else?

Maybe so but that just seems so dumb of the NFL.

Drinking a gallon or more of water a day is extremely common for athletes and people who workout regularly. Why are you questioning this?

It really is as if some people only choose to see the worst in people. Guilty until proven innocent.

Just saw the clip. Mentioned mett & the dilution, then went in to say 10-12 pos tests this year. They just lumped them all together? Both said take mett off the board ? Sorry, but this us just silly to me. And as far as the PED stuff, this is reaching...far. Only steroids will show in a urine test . If he was using something(on his own or with help), it would probably be HGH. HGH can't be detected through urine.

This is what I don't understand. What's the point in erring on the side of not believing Mett? It's not like he's pulling some Ryan Braun shite.

Because all the athletes but 10 passed! And they actually were working out.

The only people I am judging is the dumbasses that run the NFL drug testing program. Instead of running it like everyone else in America, where they test for dilution immediately, and require the tester to give another sample or give a hair sample, the NFL simply doesnt do this and counts it as a fail. Sheer dumbass stupidity

So Mett stopped rehabbing and didn't exercise in any way, on his own or otherwise, the entire week of the combine?
