Well of course.

I don’t care where he pitches we need arms and he’s a damn good one

Hell Yeah! If we get Paul Gervase the 6'8 pitcher who's projected as a closer I say absolutely give Devon a shot at starting!

Yep

Almost think his best work is several innings in a row vs here-n-there.

That FSU game in 2019 was fricking magic. Having Fontenot back next year would be a great boost to the pitching lineup. Starter, closer, set-up man, it doesn’t matter.

The draw back with Fontenot, that’s worth mentioning, is he is allegedly on a full ride. It’s a pretty big deal to give that out in baseball, since it eats up almost 10% of the total scholarships you can give out. If he’s only coming back if he stays on 100% scholarship, that’s where you have to decide if it’s worth bringing him back. In a vacuum, it would be absolutely crazy to not try and get every talented player to return.

Agreed, He has not done well in second appearances on a weekend. I haven’t seen numbers on that, but it’s the impression I got.

I wonder how much of his struggles this year were related to bad pitch calling and situational coaching.

Real chance he could have a nice year with some actual pregame scouting and game plan. The stuff is there

Dunn did have a tendency to call too many fastballs in a row.

Fontenot has the warrior mentality. great for leadership. not certain if he truly has what it takes to be a starter but I'm still not certain with that on hills part either and was fine with giving him a shot. He's got good stuff when he's on, his consistency in dealing the stanky funk was the only real problem. We're going to need some arms this coming season and Fontenot could theoretically be a solid Saturday guy.

Little to none. His struggles have all been mechanical. His delivery is very unorthodox, so he has very little room for error. He has a tendency to either fly open or stay too closed off instead of through the mitt.
