Not at all.
But that's not the question.

Question was is LSU still considered elite?

Elite programs don't lose to the same opponent 5 yrs in a row

Elite programs don't get dominated by Arkansas twice in a row

Elite programs don't play down to their opponents level weekly

So, the word "is" refers to past or recent?

The question is, IS LSU an Elite program.

How many more of these seasons before you would consider them no longer elite?

We're a pretty good program.

Elite? No.

We can still make it back to elite status, but that window is rapidly closing.

I haven't made any excuses, just given a realistic viewpoint of our current situation. There is no excuse for not being better next year.

"It depends on what the meaning of the word 'is' is."

I believe the program has slipped a bit to a level just under the elite status.

Outgoing seniors are 20-12 in the conference, and 1-2 in bowl games. Would not classify that as elite.

But but but, we recruit so well. And Miles is a great guy. And his players love him. And we send all these players to the NFL.

Delusion and lack of self awareness.

The fact that most people want Miles gone, and for good reason, is BECAUSE LSU IS an elite program. Otherwise, 9-3 is either expected or the cieling.

If Miles is underachieving right now, and I think he is, it's because LSU is the type of program that offers so much that what he's doing right now is unacceptable.

LSU football is elite, and Miles isn't living up to it.

The Miles bashers are mediocre people, but the program is elite.

Bc we're pissed, alright? We're pissed. We love the program and we're not happy with the state of it and we're angry that silly people for silly reasons have scuttled a chance to improve it. Can you just accept that and let us bitch and rant on the RANT? That's the purpose of this board. No one forces you to be here.

Nope. We made a move to go in that direction and we all know what happened.

Some people say that there are 100+ programs that would trade places with us right now, and that makes us elite.

The truth is there are a handful of programs that would not trade with us.

Now most, not all, of the 100+ programs that would trade with us don't have the money, in state talent, facilities or fanbase that we have.

And most, not all, of the handful of programs that would not trade with us do.

We went from having good/great seasons under Miles to having mediocre/good seasons with a good/great season every 4 years to now having all mediocre/good seasons with no great seasons.

That's not good enough. And not elite.

Depends a lot on how we respond next year

If we make a CFB Playoff run next season then yes we're still an elite program who just had a lull

If not I'd say the decline is officially real and we're just a good program
