Lose to Bama, win the rest AND Bama beats UGA in SECCG.

I hope you’re right...but after EVERY so called expert picked Miami and Auburn...I really feel the lack of respect means we better go undefeated...so we might as well beat Bama and lose to a few others. Let’s face it..beating Bama would be orgasmic and O would be loved more than ever.

If we lose to Bama but run the table on the rest (including wins over GA and MSST), and Bama continues to beat everyone by 40, there's no way they can keep us out.

Losing only to them, especially in a close one, might be enough to get us in the playoffs if they run the table. It should certainly with our resume otherwise.

We get in and we get a second crack at them, possibly in the NCG. Could get redemption for 2011

lose to Bama, run the rest of the table. Sneak in like Bama does when they lose and beat them in the Ship!

How long have you been following college football? There’s numerous undefeated teams during the BCS era..like Auburn, Boise St, TCU who would say the same thing...not to mention TCU screwed just a few years ago because of Ohio St.

The best debate I can come up with at the moment for choosing the 2 losses and beating Bama is cause it would tarnish their “all time team” like they did to us in 2011. I hope we don’t have to pick either though and go undefeated.

GoldenBoy,

Obviously we all want to run the table, that is my ideal scenario.

However, with the choices presented, what you choose?

I would choose to lose to Alabama and beat everyone else. However, I would venture to say that a very large portion of the LSU fanbase would certainly take two losses to other teams to beat Alabama.

The argument for beating Alabama but having two losses is that the pollsters would potentially view us as being the only team to beat them as more valuable than being a one loss team. I don't really buy it, but you never know.

Potentially 4 if MSU makes it in before we play them.

Losing to Bama and winning every other game is a likely ticket to the playoffs so long as Bama beats Georgia in the SECCG. Clearly, I'd choose this option. Especially if UGA won all of their other games.

11-1 is waaay better than 10-2 even if we lose to bama at 11-1 or beat bama at 10-2.

Why? 2 Losses going into the Bama game... that even takes away the luster of the matchup. No one should be this Bama obsessed to take additional losses and screw postseason chances just to win one game over Bama who would go on to win the NC anyway

Well let's say we lose to Bama, beat UGA.

Bama undefeated SEC West Champion
UGA 1-loss SEC East Champion
LSU 1-loss SEC West Runner-Up

Now lets say UGA beats Bama in the SECCG.

Bama 1-loss SEC West Champion, SEC Runner-Up
UGA 1-loss SEC East Champion, SEC Champion
LSU 1-loss SEC West-Runner-up

Who gets in now?

Because that is the scenario I am asking about, that's why.

If we run the table, but lose to Bama and both Bama and UGA otherwise run the table, they compete for the SEC title. What happens if UGA beats Bama in that title?

How is that a question? 2 losses vs 1 loss?
