One of the main reasons PM retired is because I don't think he wanted to deal with NIL and the portal

Let it go. What purpose does it serve to keep crapping on a man who gave his all to LSU. I know it wasn’t great at the end, but there were extenuating circumstances. He realized what was happening and stepped aside for the benefit of the program.

JJ doesn't win this NC without CPM and CPM wouldn't have won it without the pieces JJ added.

Easy.

Paul wouldn’t have gotten Skenes, Hurd, Tanks or Riley Cooper so no, he wouldn’t have won.

No.

They probably would have run themselves out of innings constantly, thus not allowing guys like White, Crews, and others the opportunity to drive in runs. He also probably would not have recruited a guy like White.

On the flip side, the defense likely would have been much better.

It took lots of foresight to manage the pitching staff for the last 2 games vs WF and the Florida series. Game 2 vs Florida was almost a predetermined loss to have the right arms for game 3. Not sure if PM had that in him

No.

He would have prioritized defense over the bats.

Which is the right call in Omaha, not the SEC

Beings he never would have been able to recruit this talent , especially out of the portal , then obviously no and this is a dumb topic to even discuss. I feel dumber for replying to it.

With this exact roster, probably.

But idk that he could have gone and got Tanks, Skenes and Hurd.

I think that’s where CJJ stands alone.

Seconded. JJ seems to have a better grasp on pitchers as well, knowing when to pull them and when to let them fight.

That could be coincidence but time will tell. Maineri was objectively not good at it

First off, recruiting the elite pitchers was what absolutely killed PMs last 5 years. He wouldn’t have had the pitchers on the roster. The end. Is he a great baseball coach….absolutely no doubt.

Who cares!

Paul recruited some all-time LSU talent and laid a foundation of this team. We should forever celebrate him for that.

How often did Paul allow a 100-pitch pitch count?

skip retired way too young. coulda easily coached 10 more years.

Probably could have, but he had 2 hip replacements and constant walks to the mound were probably getting rough. LOL
