Would LSU have the strongest round 1 home field advantage in CFB?

Can you imagine a home playoff game in Tiger Stadium? At night?

I'm gonna say yes.

At night, most certainly. During the day? It's a toss-up. We've never done December games in TS. Personally, I can't wait, but am willing to if we're a top 4 seed.

I think a cold weather team hosting a southern team may have a bigger advantage...

We’re talking a playoff game. Not UCLA. And not in September.

it's hard to argue that a team has a bigger adv than LSU on a sat night

As of now the low for December 21st is Columbus, Ohio is 24 degrees. I would not want to play against Ohio State in sub 32 degree weather...

There's a friday night game at 7pm (CST), a Saturday at 11, Saturday at 3pm, and Saturday at 7pm.

Idk how they choose who plays when but could you imagine the amount of work that wouldn't get done that Friday before a CFP game in BR

I know, but I can't remember a day game that I've ever been to that comes close to some of the night games I've been to. At night there is just a different aura. Some of these top teams are used to playing at 11 AM and 2:30 and they revel in it. at LSU that feels like punishment.

So, what's the perceived pathway in the playoffs?

5th or 6th seed, right? Get a home game, then 2nd rd neutral field matchup against ACC or Big 12?

Ok, so let's figure out where these neutral site games are, and who goes where. I wouldn't mind being the 8th seed and then facing Oregon or Ohio State, if it's in the Sugar Bowl. That would be hilarious.

LSU hosting a home CFP game is something the committee probably hoped for with this idea.

5th

Likely playing highest non G4 team and then winner gets Big12 champ.

Bama 2008 was an awesome atmosphere. When RJF blocked the FG, one of the loudest moments in TS history.

Before when the playoff game would be.

My concern is that a lot of students will be out of town for a playoff game.

I'm not sure we could sell 103,000 tickets to a playoff game. However....the good thing is that the people who DO buy tix are the hard core fans who want to be there, and not the fair-weather assholes who leave early, which might make for a better overall environment.
