"He's good people"? Yet his own players turned him in to their A.D. for texting his girlfriend from the dug out while a game was going on. He pissed off CPM for the way he left LSU. Believe who you will but he was fired from Holy Cross. He cheated on his pregnant wife. .........."Good people"?

The players weren’t just upset with the texting. It went deeper than that.

The first series of the year for Miss St was with Southern Miss. During one game AC was so distracted texting his Florida honey he made a second mound visit to take his pitcher out and when he motioned to the bullpen for the new pitcher he realized he had neglected to tell any pitchers to get warmed up.

A pitcher had to come into the game cold.

CPM was pissed because AC lied to him about the Miss St job.

The AD at Miss St, John Cohen, called CPM to ask permission to speak to AC about his head coach opening. Mainieri told JC sure talk to him.

So when CPM told AC to be expecting a call from Cohen, AC acted surprised and expressed doubts about his getting the job. The next day the news broke that Cohen had already interviewed AC the previous week, offered the job to AC and he’d already agreed to take the job starting that day.

Mainieri said he didn’t appreciate the song and dance runaround Cohen and AC gave him.

He couldn’t even coach Holy Cross

but what kind of a pay cut did they ask him to take??? Especially without another job lined up… and the next job he gets probably won’t be comparable to HC in any way
