The only person Kelly would be betraying in this conjured up scenario would be himself and I don’t think BK coached all these years of success and moved his family across the country to frick his own arse.

Geez it’s no wonder some of our fanbase has the reputation it does. Actually I heard it from Daniel’s own mouth in an interview when he came over here what was promised to him and it wasn’t the starting position. I’m sure if you searched for the video you can find it but he said that he would be given an honest opportunity to win the position and that’s all he needed to hear.

He took the next flight to BR and so the answer to your question would be that Brian Kelly would absolutely pass on Daniel’s if he felt that he wasn’t the best option. I’ll go even further and say that if Daniel’s can’t run the QBs position with a consistent level of success that he will be sitting on that bench cheering for the next guy up. No doubt in my mind.

Kelly would absolutely risk his career

Kelly risks his career with each decision he makes. One of Les Miles’ great moments was after he beat Auburn with the last second throw to Byrd in the end zone. A lot of folks criticized the play call, saying that a FG would have won, and we were in FG range. Miles pointed out that you could miss a FG. The only safe thing about a FG was that it was the conventional call, thus folks would have blamed the kicker, not the coach.

Why do you people not realize no one is betraying anyone? If one player gives a coach a better chance to win, that’s his guy. It’s not betrayal.

Would Kelly betray Daniels?

Would Kelly betray the entire team by playing a QB who doesn’t give us the best chance to win because of something he said to that QB?

That seems like a much bigger stretch than just “betraying Daniels”

He might fool fans like you but he can't fool the players.
Saban said years ago, the players know who should be the starter.
Kelly has given no indication that he makes stupid decisions.

Daniels is Kelly’s guy insofar as he brought him in through the Portal.

When you take a guy through the portal there is a certain degree of gravity on that move. It’s not like a high school kid who has years to develop. It’s a seasoned college player who has a short runway left to make hay.

Saban’s said it and I think he’s right as he usually is. You don’t want to send the message to portal players that you aren’t going to live up to a promise.

So is there any chance that Kelly doesn’t choose Daniels as his guy?
Would be start Daniels to the detriment of LSU- who he is ultimately accountable to?

No chance he doesn't start. It was BK guy so no matter the other QB's do it will be his job.

If he smoked weed, no way he thinks this is a reasonable question. You actually have some insight unlike the drunk fool that he probably is. You see it’s alcohol that makes u stupid.

Stupid post. You could also argue Brennan was “Kelly’s guy” cause he talked him back into LSU from the portal

Stupid post.

He talked Brennan out of portal before Jayden Daniels ever transferred to LSU. So at the time JD wasn't here

You know the problem with stupid people is they don’t realize they are stupid.
