Because of Saban and that's not arguable. We as LSU fans should know better than anyone how quicky the wrong coach can take a program from the Penthouse to the Outhouse! That said, maybe Bama is the better job but the whole thread was built on the premise of the best jobs in the SEC for the "next" guy...not what is currently happening at each school.

For sure not.....you don't want to follow the GOAT. Coach Saban is very much aware of the great talent in Louisiana.....per captita the most fertile recruting ground in the country. He has the research on that topic!! LSU is the job....lets get that best person out there and go ahead and be the very best Univesity in all sports. We have Scoott W...who is top notch and will find that fit....no doubt in my mind!!! Geaux Tigers!!

I don’t see how bama loses a step in the NIL age

No they will lose a step when Saban retires.

They will still be good and the SEC will still go through them. But what Saban has done is so incredibly remarkable it just isn’t realistic to think the next coach can continue at the same level.

True

I see them being playoff relevant. I guess now under Saban they’re win it all or bust

I’m sure they’ll get the big name hire that will continue on doing bama thing

Outside of Gene Stallings, Alabama had a bad run of coaches between the Bear and Saban. There is no way anyone can keep what Saban built going
My prediction: After Saban leaves, the Tide are going to go on a run of hiring his former assistants. And they're going to get some duds - I can't imagine Kirby Smart leaving Georgia or Mario Cristobal leaving Oregon to take the Alabama job.

Alabama would be one job I wouldn't want if I was a HC because the fans would be constantly be comparing you against the greatest coach ever in the history of college football. Nothing you would be able to do to satisfy them besides a NC.

I think it’s happening sooner than later. People forget he almost lost to Florida, and lost to A&M.

I think Bama and LSU are probably equal in attractiveness if it’s for the same amount of money.

Both have good facilities, great recruiting base, insane gameday atmosphere. Bama wins more championships now but all that shite goes out the window when the new coach gets hired. Post Saban, whoever has the best coach between LSU and Bama will be going to the playoffs.

These threads are getting embarrassing. Oddly enough, I feel fortunate you’re focusing on football and ignoring the divergence in academic rankings that’s also occurred over the past decade.

Yes. Even after Saban. Ohio State and Bama are the easist places to win a Natl Title, with just regular coaches. When they get a great coach, they dominate for an entire decade.

Bama has a more historically successful program, plus they will give you their sisters…
