The chances of this happening are really small, but I wonder what the committee would do with this.

Conference Champions
Clemson (13-0) - ACC
Ohio State (13-0) - Big 10
Baylor (13-0) - Big 12
Oregon (12-1) - Pac-12
Georgia (12-1) - SEC

Others
LSU - 12-1
Bama - 11-1
Oklahoma - 11-2
Utah - 11-2
Minnesota - 12-1

My guess is that LSU makes it to the SEC championship undefeated then they would be in regardless of the outcome. None of the 1 loss teams would have a better resume than LSU. My guess is it would be
1 ) Ohio State
2)Clemson
3) Georgia
4) LSU

Problem is there is still an undefeated Conference Champ in Baylor. I would Baylor and UGA get the last two spots in that scenario.

Worst possible scenario? LSU loses to Ole Miss.

I knew I was going to be downvoted to hell. This won't happen, but it's just an interesting scenario that would really show the committee's hand. LSU is clearly a better team than Baylor. Would they get in over an undefeated conference championship ?

You need to change Baylor to 13-0 in your scenario.

I think baylor would be the most easy to discredit.

It would come down to LSU vs Oregon for the last spot.

I think it would be an utter travesty if they chose Oregon. I mean I could see it happening but there’s no way I would understand the rationale.

LSU needs to win the SEC to play for a national title. As it should be.

We aren’t Alabama trying to lose the conference and still get a made up championship out of it.

The committee would have no choice but to expand the playoff to 8 teams next year. But this scenario is easy. It’d be the 3 undefeated champs and Georgia.

LSU has beaten 4 teams ranked in the CFP poll, 2 on the road. I don’t think LSU should be required to win the SEC championship game to go to the dance.

That's why all these projections showing an undefeated Baylor team are so silly. I personally think they'll lose their next two games. They just eked by, two weeks in a row, vs West Virginia and TCU!

Baylor will have at least one, and probably 2 or 3 losses by then. They are as overrated as Minn is.

Others may (and probably have already, as I haven't read the responses before posting this) shite all over your post, but here's my take on what would happen in this scenario:

Conference Champions:

Clemson (13-0) - ACC *Definitely in*
Ohio State (13-0) - Big 10 *Definitely in*
Baylor (13-0) - Big 12 *Not a chance this happens, but if it does, definitely in*
Oregon (12-1) - Pac-12 *LSU's SoS and loss to 1 loss UGA in Atlanta better than Oregon's to 3-4 loss Auburn in Dallas*
Georgia (12-1) - SEC *Hate to say it, but UGA gets in, due to head to head, even if it's in Atlanta*

But it really isn't worst case. If that's their only loss then we still win the sec. Auto in. If we lose to ga, we aren't sec champs and have to sweat it.

I agree. I've just seen a bunch of threads and people saying LSU is in even if they lose the SEC championship. Was only meant for discussion. No way Baylor beats UT and OU twice.

If winning your conference isn’t a requirement to get into the CFP then why would losing it be a requirement to keep you out?

Only part of that statement that needed to be said. They can't expand it. There is a 12 year deal in place.

The scenario is pretty easy, unfortunately: Ohio State, Clemson, Baylor, and Georgia are in. LSU isn't getting in over an undefeated P5 Champ or the SEC Champ.
