???

Paul needs to honorably retire. He’s been a great coach, but the game has passed him by at this point.

He really needs to go.

Was it 2010 when we missed the tourney despite sweeping Cal State Fullerton who was a national seed?

It doesn’t sound like much and people blow off midweek games as insignificant, but we REALLY could’ve used a win against McNeese Tuesday. A losing streak tends to get inside a team’s collective head. Makes them start thinking too much, gets them pressing.

On the road, by 1 run. Still have an opportunity to win the series.

When was the last time we were ranked #1 and didn't make postseason? That's where we are heading, so there's your answer.

Of course but they aren’t looking like a good team at the moment. Kentucky hasn’t won a SEC game and Texas swept them and don’t look to be great. They lost to some pretty bad teams. Good effort at the end of tonight though.

I don’t remember where we started out in the polls in 1988 or 2011. But I’ve been watching/going to LSU Baseball games since 1985, and to the best of my recollection, that’s never happened.

I agree with all of this. They are not playing quality baseball from start to finish in games much less championship baseball. But they did show some fight tonight after we chased the starter. We just have to hope that it carries over to the rest of the series.

I can now see LSU's game plan. Let the opposing pitcher sit on the bench (while his team is batting) for 25 to 30 minutes after 3 or 4 innings. He will stiffen up and lose command of his pitches. Hopefully, their relief pitchers are worse than ours.

This reminds me of when Miles tried to sell us on the "best OLine he's ever had" back in like 2013 or something like that and it was probably the worst LSU has ever experienced.

The worst team since 1984 was 2007 (CPM's 1st). Worst overall win%, worst SEC win%, and didn't make the SEC tournament.

This team at 17-9 is tied for the 2nd-worst win%. Obviously a lot more season to go, but that's the company they're currently keeping.
