If your premise is correct, I’d argue that lazy made her a bad coach.

Smoke had to deal with what Bertmam didn't in recruiting. Other states came up with thier own type of n TOPs program.
He's not in the discussion of bad coaches.

Fargas is the same as every fancy dressed and well spoken black woman that works at LSU or for the government. They don’t do shite, talk in circles, people are afraid to fire them and they continually fail upwards.

Yep thanks to Boo. And he is still terrible.
He is the same as Pawl was to baseball except worse. He has ONE outdoor title on the Women’s side in 2008 and had a Women’s title STRIPPED in 2012 from a team that completely dominated the sport. His predecessor went to TAMU and won 4 each women and men and a men’s indoor - 9 total titles!

He RUINED the women’s program.

On the Men’s side are we REALLY gonna give him credit for what Boo brought /did? Who the hell do you think Mr Jumps learned and improved under? Get freaking real.

The issue is the second place finishes and getting out coached.

Follow track like I do and get back to me.

Mickey - imagine anyone suggesting that someone other than Curley Hallman was the worst coach in LSU history.

Just imagine it...

Johnny jones should be in the top 5.

Johnny Jones was actually ok at LSU until late in 2015-16, the Ben Simmons year. When Ben Simmons totally stopped caring toward the end of the season Jones lost the team. It turned into an if he can’t win with Simmons, he’ll never win situation. Even though everybody has seen what Simmons does to teams. All the blame was put on him and then the next season was a disaster.

His LSU record:

2012–13: 19–12 (9–9)
2013–14: 20–14 (9–9)
2014–15: 22–11 (11–7)
2015–16: 19–14 (11–7)
2016–17: 10–21 (2–16)

People forget that the program was trending upwards after the Trent johnson disaster, the Ben Simmons did his thing.

Trent Johnson is my pick for worst LSU coach ever. He did not recruit at all. He destroyed Stanford basketball and did the same here.

Other than Curley Hallman of course.

Farmer Fran Orgeron, LSU went from a National Championship to a Wide Receiver playing QB in 2 Years, Curley Hallman took a losing team and made a losing team.
If Josh Booty makes it to campus on time, I believe it would have been a different story for him.
When DiNardo took over at LSU he dropped Texas A&M and Florida State

As always there will be quite a bit of recency bias in these posts. But the answer is clear as day. Curly Hallman's record is by far the worst in his sport. No football coach with more than 10 games coached is anywhere near his .364 winning percentage. Hallman is the only LSU football coach with 10 or more games coached with a losing record.

The comment about Archer being young made me go google him - that guy is younger than Saban? I had no idea. How has he not had another shot at running a program? We fired him I’m assuming? Would like a little history on him

If memory is correct, Archer took over after Arnsparger left— based on Arnsparger’s recommendation and the team’s vote. From actual experience, Archer did not have the personality to handle being head coach, whether it’s from pressure, youth or being over his head. Was on same elevator with him at bowl game. Only 5 LSU fans and coach in elevator. Fans said nothing but well wishes to him and team. He said almost nothing back and came off as rude and unappreciative of fan’s support. Then the following year, Archer shows up to an LSU golf tournament dressed in Tulane’s colors. And when a booster asks why not purple and gold, Archer’s reply, “I wear those colors during season and get tired of them.” Not smart when at LSU fundraising event.

Then she wasn't a good coach. She was being paid a lot of money to not be lazy.

He inherited Tommy and Co. He was young and unproven DC and as we know, Arnsbarger is an NFL legendary DC so you know who was coaching that side of the ball. Mike’s players were undisciplined and if the “rules” were in place then as they are now, I’m not sure very many would play an entire season. There were some legendary fights and other happenings that were known but they got out of trouble. Eric Hill might still be in jail for some of the things he did. That guy was one of my favorite LBs to ever play. If Michael Brooks didn’t play with him during that time, it would be Hill mentioned equal to Devin White and Al Richardson. He was every bit as talented and one MEAN SOB. He was FIERCE.
My favorites are in no order because I do not believe one was better than the others (Hill was picked 10th in a time where only the very best defensive players are picked there like DT in 1988 at 4th).
There were different styles of play with this group for sure.
Al Richardson
Michael Brooks
Eric Hill
Warren Capone
Ollie Lawrence
Devin White
Kelvin Shepard
That youngster, Perkins, May dnd up being better than all of them. Let him put on some weight and keep his speed.

1. Harrison got/still gets trained by Lane...not Boo
2. If what he's done is "ruined" the women's program, then there's plenty of coaches out there who need to ruin their programs.
3. Issue with "2nd place"? Alot of IFs go into how NCs pan out. Not going to even waste my time explaining that to you.

Pound for pound Shaver is the 2nd best coach on campus following Mulkey. Only.

I was working in the academic center for athletes as a grad student in those days. You have no idea how bad it was. The difference between what was going on in football and what was going on with baseball/basketball players was night and day. Mike was like a frat boy running the program. All that being said, Alvin Lee was a cool dude.
