Was this the first game that the words to the Alma Mater and Star Spangled were not posted as the songs were played? I was disappointed.

Do you not know them?

If the alma mater isn't known, that's one thing, but there's absolutely no reason for a need for the National Anthem to have its words put up for people to read/sing along.

You're supposed to know the words.

Good, so now when I belt out every word to the alma mater people will know I know them and not just reading them off the board

Thank God they stopped posting the words. Everyone should know the words to the Star Spangled Banner and LSU alums should sing the alma mater from the heart.

Did they replace the words with ads?

I wish I could say that I'm surprised, but sadly it's exactly what I suspected.

Everyone knows the national anthem. Prob a few % knows the Alma Mater so display the words instead of advertisements.

Were the cannon and fireworks not used because of the “burn ban”? I can’t think of another reason for not having these.

When I was young, sure. Now that I'm old and barely remember my kids names.

But my two younger kids, both LSU grads within the last few years, still know it.

Cheesy and cliché.

Let me hear the band play the Tigers on to the field.
