Longevity on a corporate staff in industry is usually determined by departmental productivity. With sports it seems that the longer you can hang around, the harder it is to see you gone. It would seem loyalty on sports staffs too many times overrides all other factors.

Generally speaking, it’s hard to fired old jock sharing buddies. Our softball team needs a better hitting coach.

Unfortunately the difference between great coaches and good ones is the ability to separate friendships when the eye on the prize is the only goal.

It would be a good time for both to try something new.
She is a quality coach may just need a new start too.

I simply don’t care anymore. My girls loved the sport and played their whole life, one in college. So, they loved going to games and I bought season tickets. Made a trip to OKC, but I’m tired of the same thing every year. I really like Beth but she’s been given many chances to make changes in staff and she chooses not to do so. We’ve gone from top 2-3 teams in the conference to lower half of the pack. Let the chips fall where they may. Get somebody in here to restore the program.

Torina has had the exact same staff since starting LSU. She should have made some changes as things have gotten stale the last 4 years with no signs of improvement

she is les miles junior without the natty and another natty appearance. i said scott would shitcan her arse if she did not make changes....she refuses to do so...... so be it. looks like she wants to go down with the titanic. reap what you sow.

Scott is about to hire Oklahoma’s coach

slow down francis. you realize patty gasso has a saban type thing going at OU? dynasty?

not sure she would leave regardless how much money scott threw at her. But there are other very good coaches out there. some who have made it to the WCWS and are not even coaching right now. lotief, myers and candrea just off the top of my head. money could pull them out of retirement albeit some could say they are too old and want a younger coach.

throw money back at murphy? what about walton? lonni alameda?

all 3 have won nattys.

I like Beth, but with the resources available at LSU, she should be consistently in OKC. She's been a few times, but man, I can't remember the last time. It's been a few years. The program is stagnant right now. I'm not saying she needs to be fired, but the program needs to start moving in the right direction. Every other program is on the upswing, softball is just there. I haven't even been paying attention lately.

Agree 100%, year after year we're weak on consistent hitting. Good run but the run is up. Go get a difference maker as a coach. She doesn't have what it takes to win a NC. Above average teams don't win NC.

Wrong head coach there champ. Dinardo's LB/DC coach was Tepper. Tepper was the "drop" linebacker coach. Hallman just sucked.

I agree that Gasso isn't going anywhere, especially now that OU is about to join the SEC.

Murphy left us at the altar once. I wouldn't give him a chance to do it again, or to use us as leverage for a pay raise at Bama. Why would Walton want to leave UF? Aren't they the most recent SEC team to win a NC in softball?

Joe Dean to Sue Gunther: I am not going to fire you because no one cares that you are losing.

Fast forward.
The court is being named after her because of longevity.
