A&M was so obsessed with hiring the coach that LSU appears to want that told Scott to hire Jimbo at any cost.

Seems a little premature considering Kelly hasn’t returned us to glory yet. His old contract apparently ran through 2025, why did he need an extension now?

Because the current BOS--all appointed by the current governor, who has only one year left in office--is overloaded with massive Democrats who love spending other people's money?
Woodward seems to have made some great hires here but it'd be nice to see a few of them post big numbers in the win column before we start giving away the farm.
A more creative approach would amend Woodward's existing contract today to include incentives like a huge payoff Jan. 1, 2026 if LSU athletics produces/vies for championships in the three major sports between now and then.

Under 2 mil for the guy who’s in charge of hiring all LSU coaches and pretty much over seeing a 100 million dollar enterprise seems like a good deal to me.
