re: With LSU losing 30 players, but landing No. 1 TP group, what's a realistic goal for 2025?

Saying the truth isn't shitting on anything.
It's your problem how you take it.
With that said I LSU wins the NC every year but I'm also a realist and truth teller.
Try it sometime.

Seriously really not sure we should play anyone worth a shite ooc
You should not
The majority of teams that made the cfp had one thing in common. Favorable schedules.
- Texas played 6 of the bottom 7 teams in the SEC
- Penn State played three ranked teams and lost two.
- SMU played two ranked teams and lost both
- Indiana played two teams with a winning record
- ND marquee wins were a coach in his first game with a qb who would eventually be benched and the service academies
- Clemson played 4 teams with a winning record and lost three of them
- Boise played one p4 team and lost
- Tennessee played two ranked teams and lost one

Is that how Brian Kelly has become the winningest active coach? A weak arse schedule every year?

You’re wasting your time. The idiots you’re talking to are oddly committed to defending the imperfections of literally everyone else except the LSU coach. Strangely, they look for reasons to criticize the coach of the school they claim to support.
I guess it’s either ignorant swamp dwellers with inferiority complexes, trolls, or youthful liberal cucks who think they’re being edgy by being contrarian
And there's a section of this fan base that creates paradoxes on the daily to compensate and protect Brian Kelly. He's the 8th highest paid coach, not some young guy that is cutting his teeth. Everyone said they wanted a proven coach and LSU is not a stepping stone program for an up and coming coach. It's been past time for the fanbase to act like BK is a grown arse man and prove himself worth the money he's getting paid.

9-3 with a loss in the opener and a shitty bowl win to push it to 10 and everyone will continue to blow BK because hE jUsT WOn 10 GaMEs iN tHe SEc
get used to that until he finally decides to retire!

CFP or bust.
Every year, every fanbase, talks themselves into believing there team is going to be great. Despite that, the peices were not in place for a CFP run. The ONLY favorable aspect for such was the schedule. If LSU could beat USC then a 6-2 record in the SEC seemed doable given both Ole Miss and Alabama (teams picked to finish at the top 1/4th or so of the league standings) were at home and LSU didn't have to play Georgia, Texas or Tennessee. Once LSU lost to USC the likely CFP hopes went with it because LSU was never going to be good enough to overcome a 1 game margin for error in SEC play (in order to finish 10-2 overall). LSU lost 3 All American caliber players on offense and was "new" in just about everything on defense.
This year is different. LSU returns an experienced starting QB (just like in 01, 06, 07, 11, 13, 19, 23). It's also the second year with the defensive staff. Finally, this year's crop of transfers don't seem to be guys who couldn't crack the starting line up elsewhere or had fallen out of favor. It's several multi-year starters from other power conf. teams.
LSU arguably has the best returning QB in not just the SEC, but maybe the country (if early Heisman odds mean anything). Most evaluators have LSU projected at 3rd in the SEC going into the season. However, LSU doesn't have No. 1 (Texas) or No. 2 (Georgia) on the schedule. Alabama and Ole Miss are on the road, but both will have to replace multi-year starters at QB and neither has signed a transfer starter for next season.
I thought the pieces were in place for a run in 2023. I never imagined the defense would completely fall apart like it did. I think the pieces are in place for another run this year. I'm confident the defense won't fall apart like it did in 2023. The biggest concern is the schedule. At Clemson is the toughest opener LSU has had in several years, topping even FSU in 2023 because that was technically a neutral site game. If LSU can beat Clemson I have a hard time not seeing LSU reach the CFP because I think they are good enough to go 6-2 in the SEC with the schedule they have. If LSU loses to Clemson it will be a much tougher road the rest of the way with the decreased margin for error.

Playoffs. This team, talent-wise should be good enough to get there and make noise.

The player I think we will miss the most is CJ Daniels. I know we signed some great WRs, but the chemistry between a QB and his receivers is crucial, and with basically a new OL, Daniels staying would have been a big help.
I understand Daniels was also a transfer, but not every WR transfer is going to pan out or have that chemistry with the QB, which is why his departure is big, especially early on the season.
Of course, we all know that money talks and apparently Miami's bag was a little larger than ours!

Won’t make the playoffs. Will lose first game to Clemson which leaves small room for error in sec play if you don’t win the sec.

You have no grasp of context lol. Compare what each Coach inherited and get back to me with your objective perspective Mr truth teller

Being realistic……9-4 with a bowl win and missing the playoff. Final rankings around 16.

9 & 4, Toilet Bowl win over Arizona, BK says we're a year away from NC and hires an offensive specialist from Toledo.

I havent seen anybody mention the elephant in the room - How fast the coaches can meld this mix and match talent into an efficient team - they will get better as the season progresses but how bad will the growing pains be --will they cost us a game or two ??

I guess my biggest concern is with the OL and the DL. Games are won in the trenches and with basically an entirely new OL and a DL that hasn't been dominate in years, wins are not going to come easy.
