With a convincing win tonight, should we pass up Okla?

Lol, no. We lost to Florida and got our asses kicked by Bama. OU only lost a close one to Texas

No. They lost 1 close game.

We lost a game to Florida and got our anus ripped by Alabama.

Would love to get the chance to find out/prove you wrong head to head.

We would beat them head-to-head but they deserve to be in front of us by resume/lack of losses

We have a better resume but they still have a decent SOS and were a hair off of being undefeated

You do understand that that is exactly what every single team with a worse record than another says until the following year when they get another chance at not losing

True, but to be honest, I think Bama would probably punt zero times if they played OU.

I'm just hoping for a 1-point W tonight. Our offense has been bad in the last quarter of the season and aTm has a good run D and a great RB for once. I think this one could go either way.

Why not? They’re #126 on passing yards allowed and in the mid-60s in rush defense. They have an explosive offense but our defense could keep us in the game and their offense is so bad we could score on them

To be honest, this is exactly the kind of simplistic thinking that the selection committee was created to avoid. Sure, Oklahoma only has one loss. They also haven't had to play Alabama--who has blown out literally EVERYONE they have played (seriously, their lowest margin of victory is 22 points). Oklahoma has exactly ONE win against a ranked opponent--59-56 yesterday against West Virginia. They also have VERY close calls against unranked Army, Texas Tech, and Oklahoma State. Their points allowed over the last four weeks are 46, 47, 40, and 56--and that includes a game against KANSAS! What about that resume screams "greatness?"

LSU, by contrast, has dominant wins against the #5 and #18 teams in the country, and plays at the #22 team tonight. Only one of our wins (at Auburn) was in any way a "close call."

Of course, all of this is moot if we lose tonight. I'm just not buying that Oklahoma is automatically better because they put up video game yardage totals in a Big 12 where the defenses are embarrassing, and because we have the misfortune of being in the same division as Alabama.

We deserve it over Oklahoma. Who has Oklahoma even played? They haven’t gone through the gauntlet we have.

Such outdated, brainwashed thinking

I guess 10-1 Utah State should be ahead of us too huh?

OT with Army should count as a loss

(I’m kidding)

No. Florida loss torpedoed any chance of that. A lot riding on this game tonight......a lot.

No. Now if they lose to Texas, yes.

During our "gauntlet", our wins against bad teams (Rice, Ole Miss, Arky, even La. Tech) were very unimpressive. Should the committee consider that, as well?
