I'm excited about the hire, but that number 1 scoring defense is looking less and less impressive after the big 10s pitiful performance in bowl games. They gave up 35 to Alabama. I hope he lives up to the hype.

The best coaching hire since LSU hired Nick Saban as their head coach. The LSU defense will finally begin to resemble would the hard hitting, opportunistic defenses we knew in the seventies.
This guy will do whatever it takes to put his defensive team in a position to win the play-by-play battle.
2016 is going to be epic.

Getting him this fast gives LSU a little over a mth to use to him in recruiting, too.
My brain read this as "LSU gave him a little meth for recruiting"

Yeah but he's also coaching Big 10 athletes. He also had a ton of success at Utah State and Hawaii. Plus Alabama and Stanford aren't exactly bad company in regards to shutdown defenses

Maybe on paper. I'm gonna wait and see what he can do before I annoint him as a better hire than Miles and Chavis were.

Les went out and hired a young, well regarded coordinator. I wish he would do the same with the offense.
This kind of hire has never really been his style. He either hires long time vets or his "boys".

You have at least remember that he gave up that 35 with modest Wisco talent. We gave up 30 to Bama under Steele with LSU talent. You're right, time will tell, but I'm psyched about the hire. Wisco D looked good besting a talented USC squad.

Touchdown! Couldn't be happier with this. Guessing O didn't want it.

This is the best possible hire Miles could have made. Well done.

Moses may feel a little foolish now.
Shows a very quick affirmation by the AD to the staff.
