So now with a new AD, lets give him an extension and show him some love full of LSU support. Make this man an LSU man long term. Be nice to have a face of LSU basketball that could be bigger than Dale Brown.

Gilbeau was on Finebaum today saying Wade should be concerned for his job.

With Woodward in control I'm not at all concerned about locking Wade up long term, if it's needed. Woodward will understand, and do what needs to be done to keep a coach like Wade.

However, until all this dust settles, I'll be a little concerned that Woodward's first move will have to be firing Wade. I don't want that, and I'm sure Woodward doesn't either. If something damning comes out of this trial, or NCAA investigation, Woodward will have no choice.

Luckily, we will still have Woody, who I have faith will get the job done regardless.

Gilbeau is a hack. Frick that guy.

Let's wait until this entire process plays out before we do anything.

Then that makes me think that Wade will be here for a long time. Guilbeau is the worst.

Kinda late for that. Everyone here thinks the saga is over and are celebrating.

Gilbeau was on WWL one night a week or so ago on some late evening program predicting LSU would fire Wade the next week, for cause.

Now, I don't like him so let me clear that up up front. Screw Guilbeau.

But, if the NCAA comes in and starts destroying us, I would not be surprised, God forbid. Sure as hell hope not.

Had our president, athletic director shown some balls at the beginning of this, we would not be having this discussion and we might have made it to the Elite 8 or beyond.

They heard this when we heard it, through a Yahoo hack report, and pissed in their pants. Then waited for weeks before suspending Wade who was at the time possibly dealing with defense lawyers AND the FBI and really had no choice but to shut the frick up.

That said, once again, screw Guilbeau who probably hopes Wade gets fired so he can a) write more about it and b) claim he was right all along.

I agree I am a bit worried that will be his first move to make it clear it's a new era.

But even if it does happen, as you said, I trust he will absolutely find the right replacement.

Still an infinitely better position than under JA.

No we dont. But we do know that an injustice has been righted. Alleva jumped to conclusions. He should've waited until everything was done until making a decision. If we get to a point where solid evidence comes out showing Wade clearly violated rules, and the solution is firing him, then so be it. But we haven't been to that point yet.

a better first move to signal a new era is to carpet bomb the Compliance Department.

Given what Dawkins' team was trying to prove using WW as an example, you can bet anything bad on WW has ALREADY come to light. I would be willing to bet there is no evidence of anything WW might have done that is against NCAA rules.

The only bad offshoot of this, imo, is that most college basketball fans now think WW is a cheater. I do not think that will get any worse than it is right now and should be basically gone in 9-18 months. And, I don't think this will hurt WW's recruiting after this cycle. What Watford, Quinones, and Sy do this recruiting cycle will tell you a lot. We probably won't get all three and might not get any of the three. But 19-20 recruiting will be fine, IMO.

One thing for sure, whatever next season's roster looks like, I think WW will get the best out of it. Hopefully, we'll have Emmitt Williams, Skylar Mays, and Javonte Smart back for another year. Add in Taylor and Days and that is a very strong group of players.

If Guilbeau was saying that about O, you’d be all up in arms. Since it’s Wade, who’s done way better, you’re loving it.

Y’all are so easy to see through.

I'd hate to see Wade go but I think we have the right guy in place to replace him if that happens

This isn't what I meant at all though. I don't think Woodward comes in here and fires a shot at Wade just to do it. That would be a ridiculously bad move on his part. Let's not forget that before Woodward was a big timer in the academic and athletic world, he was a LSU student, as well as most likely a fan his entire life. I know the phrase from Orgeron is often used that "he is one of us." Woodward literally is "one of us." He grew up around it, he lived it, he breathed it. I doubt he is blind to the fact that LSU fans adored Will Wade.

All that being said, I think if he fires Wade, it will be because he has absolutely no other choice, and the fan base would understand it. I don't at all think he will come in here and fire Wade just to prove some kind of point.
