Some players get overly emotional towards their coach. Nothing wrong with that, but it’s not their call on who the coach is. I think of Les being carried off the field by his players in support of him. Don’t hear much from these players about Les anymore, do we?

So you start a thread about something you’re tired of hearing about and in said thread you mention it over and over.

Hmmm.

MacKinnon’s statement was heartfelt and touching. He’s a great recent Tiger to root for. The main issue is the record and the losing. It’s embarrassing for me to watch basketball games with my 5 yo who thinks inevitably we will lose and we lose so much. I tell him, we used to be good before you can remember and we used to win lots of games. I’m trying to raise a future Tigers basketball fan, but it’s tough with all the losing.

McMahon’s record is embarrassing. I’m embarrassed for him, the university, and all of us fans. It doesn’t need to be like this. Regardless of he helped develop MacKinnon or not, he’s had 4 chances and he’s failed miserably. There’s nothing in how he lead the team last season to make you believe he can compete anywhere near the middle of the SEC and certainly not the top.

If Max Mackinnon actually said this then this says more about the culture that McMahon has built than anything else.

Stop all this Will Wade BS or start a Will Wade,Forum for all of you who keep chirping Will Wade,

I suspect the majority of you are tired of hearing “Bring Will Wade back!”. Bringing someone back who has been fired never works. Plus, Wade was OK but no powerhouse. The record does not show that LSU was competitive in most of its losses this year and play has shown improvement each year under McMann.

You can learn a lot from people who actually know what they are talking about:

LSU departing senior guard Max Mackinnon:

Mackinnon sure made it clear how good a coach he feels McMahon is. And he’s got proof – his game. "Everyone’s got an opinion. But we lost our two best players at the start of the year.”
Those were beefy returning 6-foot-10, 245-pound junior forward Jalen Reed, who was lost in November to an Achilles injury, and electric junior UNLV transfer point guard Dedan Thomas Jr., who was one of the best at his position in the SEC through the non-conference season before his foot injury. Thomas was also the most expensive Name, Image & Likeness purchase LSU’s collective was able to cobble together last year at an estimate of about $3 million a year.
For a team like LSU on one of the cheapest roster budgets in the SEC at approximately $8 million and consequently not an overly deep or talented team, losing those two were daggers.

Rudy Macklin on Matt McMahon:

“Give Him the Players First”
“From day one, the odds were against him,” Macklin said of Matt McMahon. The Tigers’ reputation lay in ruins after the Will Wade era, crippled by NCAA sanctions that scared off prospects. “When LSU went on probation, recruits immediately started telling each other, ‘Don’t go there. They’re not going to be on TV. They’re not going to be in the tournament,’” Macklin recalled. By the time McMahon arrived, the cupboard was bare—and the clock was ticking.
"...the smarter play is to see what McMahon can do when he finally has the resources other SEC programs already enjoy. Because until LSU truly tests that scenario, firing Matt McMahon won’t solve its deepest problem.

"The Smarter Play" That's where all of you Will Wade idiots need help. Firing Mr. McMann to bring Will Wade back is not a smart move, its dumb. Stop being dumb. Got it.

Will Wade, Will Wade, Will Wade, Will Wade, Will Wade, Will Wade, Will Wade, Will Wade, Will Wade, Will Wade, Will Wade, Will Wade, Will Wade, Will Wade, Will Wade, Will Wade, Will Wade, Will Wade, Will Wade, Will Wade, Will Wade, Will Wade, Will Wade, Will Wade,
Will Wade, Will Wade, Will Wade, Will Wade, Will Wade, Will Wade, Will Wade, Will Wade, Will Wade, Will Wade, Will Wade, Will Wade, Will Wade, Will Wade, Will Wade, Will Wade, Will Wade, Will Wade, Will Wade, Will Wade, Will Wade, Will Wade, Will Wade, Will Wade

I sincerely hope this is a joke post, please don't claim LSU going forward if you're fine with us sucking in men's basketball

If we could only have players like McNeese had last year. If only.....

We should be in the tourney every year. Every coach before him consistently had teams in the tourney.

This completely ignores Matt McMahon’s role in generating enthusiasm amongst donors for NIL.

A college basketball head coach is not a basketball monk. They have to be the face of the program, courting donors and selling a vision.

Matt McMahon isn’t a victim. I’m so tired of the excuses.

The Wadeophiles are almost psychotic in their devotion to Wade. You are correct: rehiring someone who was shitcanned rarely works out. McMahon is in the unenviable position of replacing a coach who gutted the program but is inexplicably worshiped by part of the fan base.

At this point, there should be no threads about Wade.

There are multiple national writers this morning weighing in on the potential for Wade to return to LSU, and you don't think that's something that should be talked about on an LSU forum....

I know its going to be rough few days for you. You may want to layoff social media for some time.

LSU finished dead last in year four of Matt McMahon. N C State is going to the big dance in year one of Will Wade. LET THAT SINK IN!

Anyone recommending this pathetic abortion of a basketball program is either an opposing SEC fan, an LSU basketball hater or a moron!

Hey dumbass. The football players loved Les Miles too, but firing him was the right decision in 2016, and he should have been fired at the end of the previous season. So stop acting like the current players' opinion of the coach means anything. The results speak for themselves.
