Pat Henry (born July 22, 1951) is the current track and field coach at Texas A&M University. He is also the former track and field coach at Louisiana State University (LSU) where he won 27 national championships.

Skip has to be answer. He had tremendous impact, on LSU, if you combine his time as coach & time after.

It's very early in yhe process of naming Wade anything like "best ever" or whatnot....but I do believe time will tell the story that Wade ends up being the best basketball hire to ever have been made. It will be tough to ever replace Dale Brown as the best basketball coach to have been at LSU but if he stays with this program for a substantial amount of time and puts together multiple years of deep tournament runs and a few final fours then yes, he will be the best hire ever in the LSU athletic program as a whole

LSU Basketball is already in the top 10 in RPI

This after 2 years... It’s like going to Sugar Bowl 2 years after Hallman. I agree Wade needs time before he’s best of anything but the revamping of our basketball program in such a short time is spectacular. To get these recruits to come here in the first place is mind blowing. Then to start 7-0 out the gate in SEC is crazy.

Mainieri, the last of the big three to win a NC and the third most wins among current HC’s.

Our baseball program is the envy of the country
so i guess i'll have to post omaha records for a 3rd year in a row to dispel this myth. cliffs - there are SEVERAL programs with better cws w/l records or winning percentage than lsu since 2010. NINE YEARS.

having said that, i'm excited about this season. pm has a great chance to climb up that list maybe a spot or 2.

Nick Saban was not a “good” hire at the time
wow. saban was WELL regarded in the coaching community when he was hired. he was viewed as a VERY hot commodity.

Plus, we got him at a bargain

When you hire a coach with no proven track record of success, you can get them for pretty cheap.

Ed O. The football team finished 6th in the country and is trending well.
meh- jury is still out on O. And regarding Wade it’s looking good but still too early to crown him.
