Stop saying he is Les miles people, people need to calm it down, He took a program that went 2-16 in the sec and he won the sec regular season in 2nd year of coaching. He is a great recruiter and an even better coach. Stop saying he is Les miles every time we lose

What kind of ego maniac makes a separate thread called "Will Wade" when there are already threads about him (with better titles) on the board?

do you even know what a great coach is ????, he may be a very good recruiter.
How many future professional players were in that team ???

Paul Mainieri is les. Nothing about Will is like Les except maybe good recruiting and questionable coaching

Tremont and Naz were the only nba players on that on the team

Correct.
Quite the contrary Les took a 7 or 8 win SEC program and made it a 5 win SEC program
Wade took a 2 win SEC team and has made it a 12 win a year (on average) SEC team.

The comparison comes from the fact that while both had/have very good overall success, there was/is a clear deficiency on one side of the ball holding them back from potentially being great that seemed/seems to go unaddressed year after year. For Les it was the offense. At first most fans ignored it because Les had great success in his first three years at LSU. Then they turned their ire to the players (namely the QB's) for the constant poor play. Then, the realization came that after multiple years of the offense being an anchor holding the team back from being championship level it might be the ONE constant that was the biggest issue, and that was the HC's approach/philosophy on offense.
Here, Wade has had very good success in his first 3 years. NO ONE is denying that. But the lack defense has been an anchor holding his teams back from potentially being championship level. While even his first LSU team was very solid offensive unit, his last two teams have been national champion level elite offensively. That's not just my opinion. The advanced statistics bear that out. But his first three teams have been below average to horrible (this year) defensively. One season is too small of a sample size. Two seasons could have too many variables for comparison. But once you get to three season and the same issues are there then you have a trend. And that trend is the same as Miles, just in opposite directions. His offense is great. But his defense is terrible. That's where the comparison comes from and I don't think it is unreasonable.
Now, is Wade going to be as stubborn as Miles and just flat our refuse to try to develop a meaningful fix to the glaring issue? No one knows. He seems to be a proactive coach who is willing to be honest and recognize deficiencies. Thus, I'm optimistic change will come. But seeing is believing and we'll have to wait until next season to see if that happens.

It's crazy how good things have been at LSU the last 20 years that the worst insult people can throw at a coach is "[insert coach] is Les Miles!!"

He’s still young. Basketball is sport most reliant on great recruiting. He’s known for that. He’s also assembled a good staff and when he gets a post presence next year everything will come back together. Very high Ceiling for CWW

And Tremont and Naz are playing in the Development League. I question if that is better than playing in the NCAA.
Tremont was also a player that could take over a game. None of our present players are developed to that level YET.

Naz is a solid post player in the nba.

If Will Wade had the type of talent in MBB that Les had for football, and had the same results, I would say he'd be a disappointment. Wade has only been here for what 3 seasons? I think if he stays long term, and continues the great recruiting, he will be very successful. The problem is, just like every other coach in MBB, he has to compete against the NBA. Players leaving early, and not having the depth of recruiting is going to affect him more this early in his career at LSU than other coaches who've been at other D1 schools for longer.

Any lsu coach who loses a game is les miles

We have the worst basketball fans, truly the worst. Hopefully enough people drop season tickets after this “awful” season so I can get some cheap for next year when we are a top 10 team

Realistically people need to stop pretending the basketball program is close to the football program
We don’t have a ton of elite instate talent
We don’t have the best facilities
We don’t play in the best conference
We don’t have the best history
We’ve never won the NCAA tournament.
We have a lot of potential, but realistically we’re going to have down years. Especially after how late year ended.
