I think the reporter used that response to make it seem as though Wade admitted to paying players. There’s zero chance he did that for a number of reasons.

Well it’s an editorial with no question then a quote then another editorial. We don’t even know what he was asked, we have to rely on an editorial to make an assumption. Pretty easy to spot really.

Weird when people who obfuscate information accuse someone posting facts of lying. Not really weird though, I’m used to it now.

Yes, we know. You obfuscate very well and then accuse others of lying.

The AP interview transcript isn’t available to read to determine the context of his answers. But you can clearly see after watching the press conference that the article takes most of his comments out of context.

He's made the same concessions years ago. It is not new or out of context

Fans and donors energized with hire
This is what we need and it's not about Will. Fans and donors energized. Program and fanbase is dead as a doorknob and we're running it back next year.

Ok so Wade paid players.

And when we missed out on guys like Moussa Cisse are we supposed to think it’s just because they loved Penny Hardaway more than they liked money?

Who gives a shite Wade was paying players. (Looking at you fat Scott)

That was how the game was played. If you don’t want to recruit dirty, you can just use the Trent Johnson approach and recruit fricking tuba players to take up space.

Also taken out of context. When he said “I paid for it” he meant being arrogant when he was younger. He was talking about being too overbearing and not being better at building relationships with the community at the program. It’s all in the press conference if you watch it.

This

only a fat retard would still act all high and mighty over this given the current state of LSU basketball

Woodwards feet were held to the fire to rehire Wade in the past week and a half.

Wade said no.

Why would that matter to the blowhards here that couldn't give two shits about LSU MBB.

Just look at the same posters doing their same shtick. NC State probably hired the best 42 year old coach available, accepting growth and understanding of his failures. And those posters answer is to that is what?!?

Nobody is taking that comment out of context but you.

He is not admitting that “I paid for it” as in giving someone money, nor do I think that’s what the author was trying to convey.

quote:

Will Wade ‘paid’ for misdeeds at LSU. Now, he’s thankful for a 2nd power-conference shot at NC State

This. If we were still under the pre-NIL system, it’s much less palatable for a college to bring in a coach with his past transgressions. It’s a lot easier to forgive now.

What exactly do you think "it" and "that" refer to?

I’m not saying he won’t, but he failed to do that in 5 years at LSU and went the wrong direction over the last 3.

George, they re-instated Wade to coach at LSU. Even after:

-he lied to them after the first wire tap was made public.

-after he was insubordinate when the 2nd leaked tape came out.

-when he turned his back on the team in the tournament because of his own arrogance (his wordS)

-And even again when he was caught on the HBO show (Woodward publicly backed him).

Yea, he was paying players like everyone else, he was just terrible at it. Which probably could have been forgiven if he wasn't a total idiot throughout the whole situation.
