is he the bad coach for letting a team like Arkansas almost win, or a great coach for inspiring his team to come from behind like that with a reserve qb and 2 reserve OL?
I don't know. He is what he is. I do know that in the last 2 games this team has started coming together as a team. That really bodes well for next year.

That is Les Miles. Never been a consistent coach: flashes of greatness at times, choking in others. This isn't new. But he's overall a solid coach. Record speaks for itself.

Who knows, but lets not get excited and extend that contract, again.

First off, Arkansas's coach gets paid more the Les so all you people that bitch about what he makes please stfu.
Second, Arkansas played up to LSU more than LSU played down to Arkansas. LSU did not sleepwalk through the game but they did make several mistakes. Give the coaches and players plenty of credit for not giving up and being prepared when Mett went down. Many other programs would have folded in that situation. Granted, the coaches and players put LSU in that situation and they did what it took overcome it. Hopefully, they will work harder to avoid those precarious situations in the future.

He's both. Just as you start to hate him sincerely, he wins back your heart. As soon as you fall in love again, he breaks it.
edit: much more love than heartache though.

Arky sees us a a legit rival. No one at LSU including the fans even think of Arky as a rival.
Texas A&M has been in the league for 2 years and more people consider them rivals due to level of talent and history.
I think LSU will have an easier time playing during the holidays when they see the team as a real threat.

I think Les deserves every dollar he makes but this isn't true.
ETA: you don't need to go search for the link showing that Bielema makes $5mil plus because of his buyout

He is 94-23 at LSU.

Extension refers to the number of years not the dollar amount.

This makes me feel so much better about the 4.5 he makes
We came within a whisker of an Embarrassing loss to a 0-8 SEC team playing for nothing and yes the team stepped up in the end especially the young frosh to bail his goofy *^s out with a hard fought W.
I give CLM some credit even though he admitted after the winning play calling was not his doing! I think CLM is a very good recruiter and they want to play for him but we will never win a championship again with him maybe the 9 or 10 wins a year which as long as the seats are payed for by the faithful such as myself he will still be around.
Hopefully we skonk the bowl opponent and come with a chip for next year!

After the season we had in 2011, anyone with the above sentiment is just fricking stupid.

Not really. Outside of one outlier season, Les hasn't lost less than 2 games a year in his entire career. That said, I see LSU as a 9 to 11 win team each year with maybe a year sneaking into the SEC title game every few years under Les from now on. That is with how things are now and that could certainly change, but Les' days of getting away with inexplicable losses and still getting to championships are over. The SEC is simply getting stronger and it's hard to keep up the success he had his first years at LSU.

Uh yea really. The guy said 9-10 loss seasons are the norm. We have won 9 or fewer games 2 times in 8 seasons under Les. Potentially 2 times in 9 seasons after this year. We have won 11 or more games 5 times in 8 seasons.
You people are fricking ridiculous.

Never been a miles lover due to his lack of X's and O's but if he does'nt win a natty in 2 years he needs to go its to much talent here not to win a natty

That's rational.
How do you function?

How do you know this? How many coaches meetings have you attended?

Prove to me that LSU has overwhelming better talent than anybody else in the SEC or the country for that matter.

He's not a bad coach. Mediocre at best is more like it.
He's perfectly content and happy with end results like the one yesterday. Never mind the fact that Arkansas is fricking terrible and should've been blown out of the stadium. But there's old Les, "wow what a game."

His winning is consistent.

Consistently not good enough though. However, I'm one of the few that feels like our talent is severely overrated.
