Shorty doesn't just come across as a jerk, he is one!
But unfortunately for us at LSU he is our arch rival and an enemy to be sure...he not only knows talent, he senses toughness in a player like nobody else on the college level...hell, I wish it wasn't true...I hate saying it...but I live in reality..the SOB knows the recruiting game well and especially for the system he runs...hope he moves on to Texas...or out of the country, or...better not go that far....

No it isn't the key to being a successful coach. It does let your players know that it's not okay to play like shite against lesser teams though.

Not Les though. Boy what a great win!! Please continue to do what you have been doing to prepare for games against shitty opponents. Clearly it works great.

In that regard, exactly how many #1 recruiting classes has LSU had? Talent is good, yes. Superior to everybody else,no.

how many games do you think Les would win if he coached at ,say North Dakota with the talent base they have there ?

Why has he won so consistently over the past 8 years? Does it have anything to do with the environment he walked into?

So it takes no coaching talent at all to win consistently for 8 years in a good environment? I'm sure Mack Brown, Will Muschamp, Larry Coker, Frank Solich/Bill Calahan, Lane Kiffin, every Bama coach post-Bear not named Saban, and countless other coaches would love to see this secret blueprint you possess.

Or they could just take advice from Les Miles.

LSU's biggest weakness is run support by our LB's. Why did we shine against A&M??? Because we have great coaches (plural which includes Les) and our LB's didn't need to play run support on the RB's

I basically agree, but DT is our big weakness, not LB (which is average).

Agreed...this is my point...it's not only getting good athletes, big athletes, fast athletes...they have to be tough and fit YOUR PARTICULAR system....you can have great players that don't fit your system, and they could very well fail in that system...see it all the time...

After the season we had in 2011, anyone with the above sentiment is just fricking stupid.

Huh, and what happened the biggest game on the biggest stage of all?
Are you a season ticket holder?
Do you travel to away games?
I love LSU and want everything great for it, you people are in love with CLM the man evidently. I think he is again a good recruiter and wins all the weak occ home games and maybe a few more like USCe last year but his obvious lack of discipline and attention to detail will prevent us from an SEC title again imo. He will not be fired as I stated unless the ticket sales dwindle that is a Fact, so here's to hoping he proves me wrong about the SEC Title!

Next years offence could be stunning...I said "could", but I believe it will be...LBs could be OK next year, should be better after this year...safeties will be better/Loston is no big loss...jmho....the obvious fix has to get done at DT...if some miracle happens there, could get very interesting...I see several new faces helping out from this incoming class...Willis and LF especially...but one or two others will also...

This is ridiculous. It was the final home game for many of our Tigers. Was it there best?, no but they had the want to win and did. He was respecting his players in the press conference. Please, I hope you never have the chance to lead young men. Bob, you do not have it and you don't get it and you never will.

Saban was pissed afterwards. Call him an a-hole, prick, whatever.

I see what you mean, after Bama missed the FG Saban clapped and encouraged his team, the next drive they looked flat with little focus on detail. He should have blown a gasket after that missed kick, but no, he clapped.

Posted by TheBob He's not a bad coach. Mediocre at best is more like it. He's perfectly content and happy with end results like the one yesterday. Never mind the fact that Arkansas is fricking terrible and should've been blown out of the stadium. But there's old Les, "wow what a game."
this pretty much sums up how I feel too. It's like he's content to just be within striking distance of a win no matter how bad the competition.

Sure it does.

But hasn't he won even more consistently than the environment he walked into? Surely he deserves credit for building on walk he walked into, right?

We came within a whisker of an Embarrassing loss to a 0-8 SEC team playing for nothing

What was LSU playing for? Seriously whats the diff between 9 and 8 wins? Arkansas had way more to play for than LSU, considering it was their last game of the season. LSU had absolutley nothing to play for and came out with a victory missing ur rt, qb, star wr, and center. Yeah id venture to say les mile sis the best coach LSU has ever had.

Watching auburn / Alabama . Bama ahead by 7 gets ball with 1:46 left in the half , they are trying to move down field and score again , if this was miles it would b 3 quick plays up the middle or just take a knee, this kind of crap is what ticks me off, lsu players win some of these games despite the ignorance of their coach . Give it up for the kids yesterday . Even with the wins miles has , he has bn one of the biggest embarrassments to lsu with his lack of attention to the game , lack of preparing for games, dumb a answers etc. When I decide as a fan to except bn just in the middle of the sec I might b ok with a coach like him

Best record since 2005. No other program has won more during les tenure. Saban will eventually, but they get to break in a new qb next year as well.
